If that's the bar at the Raddisson, it looks a bit on the formal side. I won't be getting done up like that to go to LC concert. A pub with outside tables and cheaper menu would suit me better. That's only my opinion
Personally I prefer the place Clive Cass suggested. I don't live in Manchester and am only going on what people have posted here. I will be going with friends who have said The Old Wellington is fine, and not far from the venue. And have already arranged with other friends to meet there before the concert.

Yes - I don't get dressed up for a concert! I agree with the earlier time, but think I will give the Old Wellington a go - always willing to be proved wrong, but the Raddisson does look quite formal and expensive for a meal before the concert!

If I want to drink beer from plastic pots and be surrounded by dickheads I'll go to the Etihad.
Anyway, your choice guys.
That's nice.
Etihad it is then - see you there. Or not

LOL, Leonardthecat - the Etihad is Manchester City's football stadium!
But I don't care what I drink out of, and would never dream of classifying a group of people I don't know as "dickheads" - I take it you are not a City supporter, Rodin?
I'm not either, by the way, but I think it's a bit rude to say that!

It still seems the old wellington is the most popular choice, and 5pm a sensible time if the concert starts at 7.30
i think it is possible to book tables , but at present it's a bit unclear how many people will be going .i'm one of a party of 5(4 non forum members)
Just 3 weeks until leonard returns to manchester , and perhaps for the final time.

I will be at the Old Wellington,( not know Manchester that well) come what may, as it is so easy to get to, plus I know where it is.

Do any Manchester residents know if extra late trains are put on when there is a concert at the arena? A friend, and maybe myself, needs to get back to Chester and it looks like the last train leaves Victoria about 10.20. The only alternative it seems is to drive.

They don't do this as far as I know, I would very much doubt it.
I know my last train leaves at 11.30pm, so I am not sure if to get a Taxi back home, as I don't want to leave during the encores.

Thanks Denise.
It looks like we will be driving then. We are total strangers to Manchester, even though it is relatively close!

Sorry to argue Rodin but I cannot see any difficulty driving into manchester for the show or even for the meet up. Plenty of car parks and after the show just minutes from motorway whilst you would still be on waiting for a crammed met with no direct service.
