So you're planning to be the first of your country to wreak havoc on Hydra! Now I'm not sure if THAT's a good sign.

Your slideshow is fabulous! I really enjoyed it. Thank you for posting the link.
It is so nice that LC fans from all over the will have great options for the summer of 2011, especially those who can't attend both the Madison Event and the Hydra meetup. Hopefully, if LC does Eastern Canada in 2011, I think I will opt for the Madison Event.
btw. What is the beautiful music and who was the singer at the beginning of your slideshow? The info may already be on the Forum somewhere, but I am a relative "newbie" and didn't join until after the 2009 meetup.

This is Melina Merkouri singing "Faidra", composed by Mikis Theodorakis =]

I suggest taking a look at the other chapters, too.
You'd be surprised to see how interesting Greece is and how Hydra is neither the only or the greatest beauty there is here.

That's true. In many ways it is dangerous to make Hydra your first experience of Greece as it really isn't representative, in the same way that Venice is not representative of Italian cities.
I recommend Symi (off the coast of Rhodes) and also tiny Lipsi. And of all the magnificent historical sites, for me nothing beats Mystra (the Byzantine town above Classical Sparta).

.......here's an article from this month's Hellenic Seaways Ferries magazine.......not too sure I would trust the American ABC TV network's opinion about the Sunset being
'the second best restaurant in the world-in terms of view' and I know of a certain webmaster who wouldn't agree with the
'flawless service' claim....but hey ho you pays yer money and you takes yer choice.........ta ken

My friend, I am young. I'm sure I will travel all over, in due time. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Same here Ania, so much want to go this time. Gives me something lovely to look forward to after the disappointment of not having a UK concert to go to on Leonard's tour this year. Just love the Greek islands and have wanted to visit Hydra all these years since I first learnt about Leonard living there and saw pictures of the place. Couldn't go in 2009 but 2011 will be excellent if it takes place. What a great pleasure it will to be there with all the other Cohenites.
