We checked the restaurant at Der Salzburger Hof. Very nice place, perfect for a pre-concert meetup. Delicious food, reasonable prices. Unfortunately they close at 11.30 pm, so we have to find something else for our after-concert beers.

No rain at all today - some sunny moments, otherwise partly cloudy. Forecast for the next days 18C, showers (30% probablity)

You may walk from the main railway station (Hauptbanhof) or Hotel Der Salzburger Hof (where many members stay) to the Arena in 30 minutes. Easiest is to take bus # 1 (stops around the city including the railway station), direction: Messezenter. Arena is the last stop. Driving time from railway station 10 min max. Tickets 1.90 eur (day ticket 4.20 eur).
We also tried to find a nice place to have beers after the concert, but this was difficult. The only option near the Arena is the Arena City Hotel (only 90 seconds walk). I have emailed the thotel to ask how loing the bar is open. Will report about their answer. The only other alternative is a little bar half way back to the hotel (open until 1 am) Unfortunately It was not open when we passed it, so I can't say how good or bad it is.

Arena Hotel emailed that the bar will be closing at midnight, too early for us. Any members from Salzburg who know the city and could help us?

I think I'm just too tired but can't find when we will meet in the Salzburger Hof... 5 PM?

By sheer coincidence my company booked me into the Salzburger Hof last night (I had not checked the Forum at that time to see where any meet up might be!) but for one night only as they thought I would prefer to be in the Old Town for the rest of my stay.

The hotel is fine, the staff very friendly and the breakfast good. Weather was fine today (or should I say yesterday as I am writing at 0315 with just a short sharp downfall in the aftrernoon)

Quite impressed with Salzburg - I cannot believe it is my first visit as we have sent dozens of groups here over the years.

Look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the meet up and/or the concert.
