The wasp bobbing up and down is not much better! What sunset, it will be thick with mist and rain on 31 July/1 August. Now if Leonard were to play on the Mizen or Beara we could guarantee sunshine.

are interested in hosting , organizing "The semi-annual Leonard Cohen Event" in Ireland for 2014 .

The Event is being held in August 2010 in Krakow, Poland ,
( check Krakow thread ...Questions and Answers, a thread , I might add, established to help those attending )

I believe if we were to hold The Event in Carlow, I should be able to obtain a Grant towards costs etc.

or possibly we could obtain a Grant if The Event were to be held in Dublin .

What do you think are we up to it ......carlowmike

Have faith.... I wished for Leonard to come visit me on my birthday weekend (a "big" one, but I'm not saying ) and my wish came true, so if I wish for a glorious evening, and a beautiful big red sunset I should get that too...

How about reviving this thread for discussion of ANYTHING else even remotely connected to Lissadell, ( except for "help" which now has a designated thread,) since "the lads" are bickering on the more recently opened threads about what exactly should be discussed ? Do we REALLY need all these threads for Sligo ? Most of the other venues seem to be managing fine with just one. Sad, really; the words of Brendan Behan come to mind; "The first item for discussion on the agenda is THE SPLIT ".

LOL, at the Sligo threads debacle! Its a bit confusing but hey, if someone wants to know let them read the threads and if they REALLY want to know let them ask...! Maybe though, (tongue firmly in cheek) we need to forget just a thread on the board dedicated to Sligo information, possible support acts, where to stay, who to call in an emergency, we need a full section.Just call it, "Sligo, everything you ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask"

Seriously though, well done Carlowmike and Frelander and all other scouts. The info is great, makes life easier. Who should I talk to order good weather though...!

I only mentioned Carlow because I know we could get a Grant ..

But anywhere in Ireland is good ...

We need someone to keep a role-call of volunteers (I am busy elsewhere on the Forum until July/August),

Keep letting us know who is interested , we can arrange a meeting of The Leonard Cohen Appreciation Society Ireland in Sligo ( upstairs in The Garavouge early on the 1st August ),

Joe Way started a thread about the location of the 2012 event in the News section. Maybe that would be a better place to ask for thoughts about holding the 2014 event in Ireland? It will only get bogged down in the 5,000 threads about the Sligo concert and the events are something quite different. BTW, I thought they were organised by the fans for the fans, nothing to do with "Leonard's people".

I am not sure who usually organizes the Events but it was one of "Leonard's people" who contact me yesterday
with the suggestion of Ireland as a Venue !.

All ideas and suggestions for Schedule regarding this 2014 Event are welcome.

In particular we would like to hear from anyone travelling to Krakow for the 2010 Event, lets us know how it works and what is expected of organizers, fans , etc.
