Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese consider Wales and Scotland for 2010. Those countries were not included in 2009 although England and Ireland were. Cardiff has some wonderful venues The Millenium Centre has the best acoustics, St. David's Hall is cool, The Millenium Stadium can seat thousands of people. My venue of choice, and it would have to be for Forum members only because it is so small and intimate,is The Nevis Centre in Fort William. Ahh well I can dream ............
Or what about a special appearance for Proms in The Park on Glasgow Green or Singleton Park in Swansea?

I wasn't thinking of the fans. I was thinking about how all artists - almost without exception - seem to regard playing the RAH as a highlight of any tour. The Festival Hall - 70's "box" that it is - just wouldn't do it for them in the same way.

PS Birmingham Town Hall has re-opened after a multi million pound project to restore it to its full glory. Maybe Leonard should check that out too?

How about the new city of Inverness? Approachable via the RAH in London, then Oxford, then Bonny Glasgo' and Edinburgh ... ?
And the gateway to the Orkney and Shetland Islands ...

I have to defend the Royal Festival Hall...it's much, much better than the Royal Albert Hall for numerous reasons...the sound is great (especially since the recent modernisation), there's comfortable tiered seating, the bars are far more accessible and easy to arrange meetings, it's in a great environment on the river with loads of restaurants and Premier Inn a short walk away. It's easy to get to from directions, and most importantly they HANDLE THEIR OWN TICKETING and do it well and fairly (no Ticketmaster nightmares involved). Also, twenty four Brian Wilson concerts there have positively filled the place with good vibrations!

Seriously though, I know it's brilliant that the tour will go to some new places and lots more people will get to see Leonard, but I'm sure I'm not the only fairly recent convert to the Church of Cohen here in the UK and I would dearly love to see the great man perform again.

Of course, if I have to travel I guess I can force myself... (has no-one invented a fedora-wearing emoticon yet????)

Brilliant, Evie! I second that wholeheartedly. I have to say, the Royal Festival Hall would be fantastic, plus I would have a Leonard concert within walking distance of my house, perfect!
