well, thank you, but I am rather surprised. I presumed you would prefer Leonard.

Lion, you have played around with the "edit" button, haven't you?! I hope you are not as desperate as the fact that you stoop to strategies like this suggests, especially because it won't help at all, I still know what I want...

you say that, and yet a little doubt is showing - trust me, I know things..

look, given a choice between
Scenario 2- making love to Leonard whilst a tape of my comedy plays in the background,
or
Scenario 1 - making love to me whilst a tape of Leonard's comedy plays in the background
it's bloody obvious you would go with Scenario 3 *
* shoot yourself
.. first off.. Cate.. you disappoint.. how can you listen to such a voice and not get.. well.. certain ideas.. it's beyond me, I'm afraid..
.. on to my manely man.. I prefer tragedy, actually, to which all such scenarios would no doubt lead.. but I'd start with you, for a teaser effect, since we haven't even managed a cup of tea yet.. or even a champaignie kiss.. so we're taking things slowly, obviously.. but your playing hard to get would at the very least get me all stirred up for -- well, my main man, as it happens.. (the only reason for all this nonsense to begin with, I might add).. (Cate).. (Cate, how could you??).. (or couldn't you?)..
.. okay, well, I just thought I'd catch up on a few things.. I'm sad that the party has left these premises.. I feel partly responsible.. if only I'd never left.. maybe others might have stayed.. oh Leonard.. if only I knew you were here with us now.. it would help, I think.. Oh, by the way, I plan on attending this commemoration thingy at the Chelsea.. and, well.. if you need a woman to do the honors.. I mean, if only for nostalgia's sake.. (Janis, obviously, is not around).. anyway, there are a few gals here who might.. though I'm conveniently situated in New York, as it happens.. I might have to break my present teetotalling stint, however.. I mean, I'd probably need some alcohol on hand as this particular line of action, though in some sense lyrical, I guess you could call it, is not the first thing I'd like to do with you, as it happens.. I thought we might exchange some poems first.. then maybe you could kiss my hand, I'm thinking.. sweetly.. meltingly..
.. now what was I saying?..
.. actually, I thought I'd do my Janis impersonation, just for old times' sake.. and it might be something in keeping with this forum's summer doldrums..

FULL SCREEN...
... (oh, I've since done something for those split ends).. (in keeping with my v i o l e tishness..).. (of course)..
... (oh, and it's true, I do prefer handsome men.. and Leonard, in my book of longing, at least.. you qualify)..
edit.. I can't believe I found typo.. v.

Summertime is one of my absolute favourite songs of all time and wow... Janis gives it all she's got there.
Fantastic stuff!
By the way, Violet , you set the Haiku thread in motion again..... oooooooooh, I think you will be facing the wrath of our wildcat when he gets back.

Such a cute way to respond to this thread and yes, so sad to hear of John's demise, he gave us some amazing funny moments.
Re: Important Notice - Closure of this Forum
.. good, Tinds.. that might lead to a passionate moment.. (finally).. oh, and Sturge (nice to meet you, by the way).. that was just a perfect clip..tinderella wrote:Summertime is one of my absolute favourite songs of all time and wow... Janis gives it all she's got there.

.. by the by, folks.. whatever happened to Mr. Sirus??.. and why isn't he here offering his hand to me in marriage?.. (just my latent Rat Pack adonis fantasy that surfaces from time to time).. of course, Georges would have a fit.. (and he knows the dark arts, as you may recall).. so who knows what could ensue -- and so for these reasons as well --
JUST WHERE IS MR. SIRUS??? (oh.. and I missed the part where our Lion man is away... out saving the world again, no doubt.. no wonder we haven't had tea yet)..
'til later, fair forumers,
v i o l e t (flower)
.. oh, as I mentioned elsewhere, Tinds.. Summertime was my mother's song.. she had a lovely contralto voice.. my brothers and I used to joke with her, though.. told her, no Mom, they're saying "some other time".. not Summertime... (by way of song requests, as it were).. (sorry Mom..)...
edit.. I can't believe I still correct typos on these things... v.

Re: Important Notice - Closure of this Forum
Who is Mr Sirus?
Re: Important Notice - Closure of this Forum
... that I couldn't answer, Tinds.. but I can tell you where/when I first noticed him.. I did a little research for you, in fact.. on the current p. 5 (of this here forum's poetry by turning ugly loser's section -- where we both are, in other words).. somewhere down near the bottom of page 2 of vern.silver's thread titled "We Pass into April as if into a Colder Month".. you'll see Mr. Sirus' sexy photo beside his name.. he's wearing a tux and a bow tie.. and is smoking a cigarette.. with all of this post-coitus cigarette smoke circling around that handsome Rat Pack Adonis face of his.. he seems to be looking off to some unfathomable end.. of the night.. with a babe, no doubt.. anyway, he's deep in high minded thought, it looks like.. Oh, and his politically correct comment, as the conversation had to do with a poster by the name of Newsgal (who is a Native American and who works in a newsroom at a radio station in Connecticut, I think it is).. anyway, Mr. Sirus' comment had to do with peace pipes and blow jobs, I think it was .. and I've been stuck on him ever since.. actually, I think it's on the very next page that he pledges his undying love for me.. but nothing's ever come of it..
...hmm.. on second thought, a lot came of it.. if you look to the current p. 4 of this section of the forum.. you'll see a thread with the title "Poem for Geoffrey".. starting on p. 4 of that thread.. Mr. Sirus and I have our last exchange.. after which I serenade him for quite a number of lovely posts (I thought).. using every trick I could muster (thanks to youtube).. and STILL.. MR. SIRUS NEVER SHOWED HIS HANDSOME RAT PACK ADONIS FACE HERE AGAIN.. which has left me wanting him even more.. actually, both Mr. Sirus and Lord M. have that in common, I'm afraid.. but at least Lord M., or some variation of him, has the decency to show up once in a while.. whereas Mr. Sirus..
.. (violet takes out her lavender lace-edged linen hanky and dabs her now tumbling tears..)..
.. so that's my sad story of Mr. Sirus... oh, there's more to it, of course.. he and Vivien Leigh are friends (or enemies -- I'm not sure which).. now Vivie -- uh, Martine (the name she posts with).. drops by from time to time (and she always looks just stunning, in my opinion, as she bears an uncanny resemblance to the actress Vivien Leigh, in case you were wondering..).. anyway, she did an outreach thread.. something with Mr. Sirus' name in the title, to try to find him for me.. I remember that at the time she thought he might be in prison.. but it turns out he was just on holiday.. or so the story goes..
.. [TO BE CONTINUED.. possibly.. if Mr. Sirus would only show up]...
yours in man trouble,
v i o l e t (flower)...
.. to tell the truth, Tinds.. the romantic in me thinks that Mr. Sirus is really just protecting me from the likes of him.. that's how I live with all of this.. it heartens me to know he'd do that for me, I guess..
.. gosh.. another typo, but really.. does anyone really care.. but me?... v.

. . . . (teasing of course, it's nice to see you)
You've misread me - please note that I did say a perfect day would involve some words by Leonard and I might even invite his friend Irving's words to join in (I hope you don't think that's to kinky) but it would not actually involve Leonard himself (unless he'd be willing to sit in the background and read out loud his poems - that would work).
When I read Leonard or sit in a concert watching Leonard believe me all kinds of thoughts/feelings enter, it's just those feelings tend to gravitate towards others who are or have been important to me. Don't get me wrong - he's handsome, he moves well, has a great voice and great mind... but I'd still rather kiss him the way a woman kisses a fatherly type person.
Scenarios
the Lions choices confused me and I misunderstood the last one. Shoot - yourself (British slang doesn't always make sense to me especially as someone forgets I'm a girl).
I should have said option 3 - whist listening to a lion parody a Cohen Poem.

Ms. V. any man can clearly see that you are intensely passionate and romantic. I suspect he's protecting his own self
for fear that he will fail and that Georges will sweep you away leaving him only with a hard
feeling in his heart.
Re: Important Notice - Closure of this Forum
.. Cate.. I'm still digesting this last comment of yours.. I was liking the Mr. Sirus protecting me scenario a good deal more somehow.. I would actually be a bit shy if he met me, so.. I mean, it's not like I'm Eartha Kit or anything.. it's just me.. with a lavender linen hanky on hand.. v.
