Hi Hydriot,

sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused by the train company. We who are living in Berlin are used to this mess by now but it must be hard on our visitors.

I hope you will be able to enjoy your visit to the city nonetheless.

See you tomorrow!

Immediately opposite the East Side Hotel is Speicher Wasserseite, on the bank of the river. It has got a range of food, and an open air bar with deckchairs if the weather is nice. I have just eaten there. It's anodyne but perfectly acceptable.

The area around the O2 is dire. An absolute desert.

Hi,

I´m also attending the concert, but bringing 3 children this time (and a husband ;-) ), so I won´t be able to attend any meetup. Anyhow, as there won´t be so many people with children (mine are brought up with Leonard Cohen songs and therefore they wished desperately to see him), we will be easy to recognize and would be happy to say hello ...
Our seats are in row 2.

Counting the hours ....

Hi Amrei,

why not taking kids and hubs to the meetup, if only for half an hour?

Thanks to all who joined us in the Berlin meetups. It was so good meeting you all and to all the others who could not attend, the concert was simply WONDERFUL.

Yes, indeed it was!

I'm still thinking about how much better it was than the one in Hamburg last year - which actually makes me quite sad since it's my hometown. I had wished for Cohen, that the audience in Hamburg would have shown a bit more ardour. Yet, I'm afraid, that's like most of the people from Hamburg typically are. Politely conservative. ;-)

It was a completely different audience at the Berlin concert, much more lively and I got the feeling that even Mr. Cohen got his jollies. He was received enthusiatically, by standing ovations at the beginning, inbetween and about the last 30 minutes of the concert when some people were dancing and the audience even joined his singing.

I've been enjoying it greatly. Been crying over and over during the concert. I love this man, his lyrics and his music so much, I don't have words to express it.

Of course I also enjoyed the fan meeting! It was wonderful meeting Caren, Tigrib, actually, basecamp, courage, hydriot, Hartmut and all the others of you who just don't have a forum nick name. As for me I had a wonderful time talking, eating, drinking an laughing with you kind people and was happy to, eventually, meet other Cohenites for the first time. Moreover, it was a great honour for me to even meet wonderful Jarkko and his lovely wife.

Thanks to all of you who have been sharing this wonderful afternoon, evening, night, morning... ;-)

Oh, I shall not forget it... @courage: "Waldmeister" = (sweet) woodruff = myskmadra

Take care,
Kerstin

Hi everyone attending those meet ups in Berlin. It was great meeting you all, what a lovely bunch of people. Meeting you was well worth coming for. I hardly ever have had so much fun with strangers. But then fellow Cohenites aren't strangers, just friends you haven't met before.

Sorry I was down with a migraine so I will send around the promised list tomorrow. so we will be able to keep in touch.

My best wishes go out to all of you.

I don't know what happened, we seemed to miss everyone ...
We arrived at the appointed meeting place (Cafe Nova) shortly after the concert and it was quite empty, so we asked if their 23:00 reservation for 10-15 people had arrived yet and they told us that they hadn't, so we got some drinks and sat at a table just outside the front door. We waited until 00:40 ....
This would have been our first (and possibly only) meet-up, so it's a shame that it didn't happen for us.

Sorry to hear about that Warthog. We were sitting outside, on the far right from the entrance, quite a large group of people actually.

Hopefully you will be able to meet other fellow Cohenites sometime in the near future.

Very sorry for you, warthog!
I wonder how we could miss each other.
Were you in the group sitting right in front of the entry of the Via Nova?

Wasn't there a nice lady who took photos at the meetup in the café Via Nova and wanted to post them?

Actually, I've been taking some nice photos too but don't know if the people would like to have their picture posted ... ???

Hi ispellit,

> Actually, I've been taking some nice photos too but don't know if the people would like to have their picture posted ... ???

Right. - Maybe you could make them available (via e-mail) to the people who had attended the meeting?

And while the description "nice lady" certainly fits you, I wasn't thinking of you. (I didn't know you took photos there.) - But there was a dark haired lady across the table. And I seem to remember she wanted to make the photos she took available to the attendees ...
