Sept. 18th cannot be right: it's Erev Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish New Year. Also, any Friday night would exclude those who keep Shabbat, so again, a very unlikely day/date for the concert to take place.

Translation of the Hebrew for the rest of the world i.e. all those in and outside Israel who may also want to know:

'Gever27' writes: 'Last week I called the ticket office Castel in Tel Aviv and they told me that ticket sales will start beginning of May. Ticket sales haven't started yet, I'm also waiting. This is the Castel website http://www.tkts.co.il ' (end translation).

Personally I would advise to wait for the official seller and link, still to be announced by Jarkko elsewhere on this forum - see:
Summer Tour 2009: concerts and ticket links (Updated May 6):

***September 24: Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan Stadium
Seller and link to be announced!

This site http://www.tkts.co.il/ is in Hebrew, and there is no option to switch it into English. However, at this point it is unclear whether the tickets can be sold abroad too. We'll have to wait until next week and see that.

now, after the "depech mode" concert in Israel has ended,i hope that the tickets for Leonard Cohen in ramat gan will be out for sale as soon as possible.i hope it will be
during this week.i remember that in September 25th last year, there was a big concert of Paul McCartney and the tickets sold out
in august, just one month before the concert.i hope that it won't be the case with Leonard because the demand for Leonard Cohen
tickets is extremely high, even more than Paul McCartney, which also sold out very quickly.

i've seen that, they said that there is a problem to find an israeli sponsor for the concert.
unfortunately, our culture is being controlled by some cellular companies who,as LC said:"don't really care for music"
the cellular companies prefer to give sponsorship to 7 seasons of "kochav nolad",which is the israeli version to "american idol"
instead of investing in a once in a life time concert like leonard cohen.
i know that the israeli producer of leonard cohen concert tried to negotiate with both of the cellular companies and it failed
because:"the cellular company don't want to invest in non-israeli concerts which also doesn't seems to be Referred to young crowd"
i don't think they right, because a lot of people in israel loves leonard cohen.even young people.

i really hope that this little conflict will be over and we will, after all be able to see leonard cohen in israel finally.

*sigh*
any links to those recent developments/rumours ?
we could organise a 'non-cell phone' day as a protest, if it's succesful and effect those companies profits it might change their minds about sponsering.

it was yesterday in channel 10 news on the cultural section.

you can find it here:http://www.nana10.co.il then go to news section and search for the 12.5 news.
the cultural section is at 50:00 minutes more or less.

as for the protest,i don't know much is gonna help, but i think it worth to give it a shot.
let's just wait patiently and hope for the good news to come.

I heard the producers are negotiating with Bank Discount... which is likely to be the sponser. We'll just have to wait and see.
