Any idea what Leonard's opinion of his LPs. I know he doesn't like Death of a Ladies Man - though I'm unsure whether that's because Phil Spector pointed a gun at his head during the recording sessions, or because of Phil's Wall of Sound.
I always thought he had a soft spot for Songs of Love and Hate, but having seen him perform 0 songs from that LP on 3 occasions this tour, I doubt I'm right
What is your favourite Cohen CD?

Re: What is your favourite Cohen CD?
In the Sunday Herald piece on LC last weekend (it's a Scottish newspaper), it was reported that LC considers New Skin for the Old Ceremony his best album. Whether this is reliable reporting or not I have no idea.
I'm not sure that the appearance or non-appearance of songs on his present tour should be taken as evidence of how much LC likes the album the songs come from. It may have more to do with (1) what he thinks will work well live; (2) what he thinks his 73-year-old voice can best deliver; and (3) his current relationship with the words. He's a poet first, remember. He might just not be in the mood to sing all that much from Songs of Love and Hate. Although, if this is part of the explanation for this tour's set lists, I can't help but wonder why there is so little from Recent Songs. I think his current band would do wonderful versions of The Guests, This Smokey Life, The Window, The Traitor, Came so far for Beauty, and even the Ballad of the Absent Mare. I for one would love to hear any of these performed ...

Re: What is your favourite Cohen CD?
1. Songs from a Room
2. Dear Heather
3. Songs of Leonard Cohen
4. I'm Your Man
5. Songs of Love & Hate
6. Live Songs
7. Ten New Songs
8. Death of a Ladies Man
9. New Skin for the Old Ceremony
10. Field Commander Cohen: Tour of 1979
I don't like Recent Songs and Various Positions (this one has a couple of good songs, but I don't like the cold sound).

For some reason I forgot to mention The Future, which is good record.

Re: What is your favourite Cohen CD?
After Ten New Songs I prefer Various Positions followed by The Future and I'm Your Man.
