Dick,
You are doing a masterful job of pulling this event together! A while back you indicated there might be an interest in volunteers. If needed, let me know.....I am ready to serve!
Look forward to seeing you at the Chelsea.
Leonard from Montreal

After much back and forth and patient "tweaking" the image by Marie and Jarkko, we are now in agreement that this photo shows what we intend to see when the plaque has been cast. I still need to make more arrangements and check out the supplier's background, then will place the order.
Remember -- it is not too late to make a contribution and have your name added to the list of fans who participated in this effort. Extra funds will get to charity that LC chooses.

Hi Dick.
Today I subscribed in this forum and read about the idea of the plaque in the Chelsea hotel. Great idea! I immediately opened a paypal acount. The $ 10 should be on your account soon.
Thanks for the opportunity.

Hi, I'm new on this forum.
I send the money a few days ago.
Last year I saw Leonard Cohen in Frankfurt at the Festhalle (lucky that they had displays there). It was wonderful! And this year I had the chance to see him again in Nantes during my holydays. My mother (born 1934) and me had second row seats in front of the stage. We' ll never forget this fantastic show.
And as paola2 already wrote: It will be a great honour to have my name on the donor list.
Thank you so much, Dick
Isolde
Sorry for "my" english

Hi Dick, would it be possible for me to give my contribution to one of the organisers next month in Barcelona? Please let me know. Thanks

Without his consent, I am offering that Jarkko could accept donations in Barcelona. It would be important to also email both Jarkko and myself with your listing info -- name and city/country of residence.
I will be preparing a listing of all donors to present to Leonard, and I need to have a cutoff established for that. Since the extra funds will be going to charity, I want it to be as long as practical. Therefore, I will accept contributions and include names on the list up until September 30. After that, I can still funnel money, but will not be modifying the listing info. Sometime early in October, I will publicize the Participant list in this thread and allow a couple of days for corrections to come in for any mistakes I might have made.

DEDICATION CEREMONY
ok guys--- here is where we stand right now.
Leonard from Montreal working on program with me, and Sue has agreed to keep a headcount and listing of attendees.
Chelsea Plaque dedication
2pm – Oct 23
You will hear Chelsea Hotel #2 at its birthplace.
You will meet Leonard’s sister, Esther Cohen, and Chelsea heir and general manager, David Elder.
You will meet Robert Kory, Leonard’s manager.
Chelsea Hotel will host a reception in their first floor meeting room. It is important that you indicate here, or in an email to me (rstraub@att.net) that you plan to attend. The Reception will not be open to the general public. Attendees will need to check in at the meeting room door.
During reception and dedication ceremony, you will be the first to view the plaque as it will hopefully hang for many years.
Thanks all!
Dick

Thank you SO much to everyone for a chance to share in this joyful celebration. I'm so overexcited that I've started to cry

Thought I had my Cohen vulnerabilities under control after 40 years LOL.
For those attending only 'in spirit ' let's hope we can provide lots of video footage later. The blessings of the internet are many.
YIPPEEE! MSG!!

Hi Dick,
How exciting! Here I thought we might only be viewing the plaque and that was enough for me, but wow, you have coordinated some wonderful arrangements. Esther, Robert Kory, AND a reception. Count me in for sure! Heck, maybe I'll just check out MSG and see if any tickets 60 rows back are left and make it a PERFECT day!
Thank you so much for everything!

How I wish I could be there for this wonderful celebration but I will be returning from Florida on that day and then I have just a few days to catch up at home and then I am off to Chicago for another concert. Once again I will say thank you to Dick and all of the wonderful people who have contributed to the plaque and now the celebration of is placement in the Chelsea Hotel. I am so proud to have been a part of this beautiful and appropriate endeavor to celebrate a great artist and gentleman. Leonard you are so deserving....
I would have loved to have met your sister....
