For our friends who may not have seen it on other threads. The 2014 Leonard Cohen Event is going to be held in Cork Ireland

Hi folks

Galway is prepared to announce the details of our next walking weekend soon, which will be in September 2013, 19th to 23rd.

Joe sent me a draft and it reads fantastic, except for the atlantic swim on Sunday morning.

I have asked Joe to arrange an alternative for those who hate swimming, such as sit in a bar and watch a replay of how Borussia Dortmund won the Champions League earlier in the year.

I know there will be quite a few supporters there.

Roger Waters is playing The Wall in Dublin on Sept 18th 2013, tix already on presale, general sale starts tomorrow 16th Nov 9am, ticketmaster.ie. Dublin is the only European date released so far for this tour.

Are you still waiting? That reminds me of buying LC tickets for Montreal where there was a waiting room but thankfully the wait was very short!

Yep. Currently there's only tickets onsale for Dublin, far as I can see, and anyhow that's the only date this thread would be interested in.

..good to hear the plans are going well for our walking weekend and so looking forward to seeing you all in connemara....although i'm not so sure about the plans for an atlantic swim...

...looking at this old photo ...from left to right wybe, jarkko, joe, henning and meself...from the great hydra to poros swimathon during the hydra 2002 event i don't think any of us are in the same physical condition as we were 10 years ago to be taking up the challenge of swimming in the atlantic....but i'm game and anything would be better than watching BVB on the TV so count me in....ta ken

Autumn Atlantic baths can be dangerous after certain age and some Guinnes on.....

THE THIRD LEONARD COHEN WALKING WEEKEND

Hello fans, forum members, walkers and friends,

I would like to welcome you to my home town, Galway, from the 19th (Thursday) to the 23rd (Monday) of September 2013. The weekend will consist of four walks. Two small walks on Thursday evening and Sunday morning, and two days walking on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday and Saturday we will hire a private coach and go to the Ailwee caves/ the Burren /cliffs of Moher, Inis Oirr , Killary harbor and Connemara. The coach will hold 53 people so 53 is also the max amount of participants. *)
On Sunday we will have a chilled out day: Lunch at the Quays followed by a pub crawl (free music in all pubs), with an open mic session later in the evening.
