My mistake, Phil - I had forgotten you had the info about your Yorkshire weekend in another thread, thought it was this one. That's OK, then.

Kate Bush: Wuthering Heights is set on the Yorkshire Moors, so I thought we could squeeze in a reenactment between the whippet racing and the trip down the mine, that's all.

Hope things are good with you and Jean:-)! (I'm offline-ish for the summer, can't stay here while the sun is shining, but I'll be back...)

Hi Diane
I have just sent you a pm . I would be grateful if you could resist the temptation to sunbath for just a moment to read it . Wales must be on a different planet to England because the only thing we are getting is rain, rain, rain

Just great Poetry, thankyou so much for sharing. I have very special memories of visiting 'The Mountains of Mourne" and also love the song so a few more verses are a welcome addition,

Leonard’s Wisdom

Wisdom! What is wisdom
It could be “love and hate
Or maybe it’s in “Recent Songs”
After a “Songs from a room “ debate
It started back in sixty-seven
When wisdom was unique
With “Songs of Leonard Cohen
On life and love so bleak
And then again in seventy-four
Having followed seventy three
The wisdom of his “Live Songs”
And a “Skin for a ceremony”
But then a lack of wisdom
As the man himself would sigh
When in nineteen seventy seven
He allowed a “Ladies man to die”
Seventy-nine brought “Recent Songs”
His wisdom back on track
And “ Various positions”
Would see the wise man back
But best of all I have to say
Was four years later on?
When”I’m your man” the album
Contained his wisest song
“Everybody knows” the future’s coming
In nineteen ninety two
With once again some more wise songs
For the likes of me and you
But the wisdom was not over
He gave us “Ten Songs” new
Then after his “Dear Heather”
Some serious touring to do
But the wisdom did not stop there
He has some “Old Ideas”
That keeps our hearts uplifted
And wipes away the tears.

YL,
A big Thank You, for all this wisdom via our Leonard. I hope your walk through the coalmine come about next year and I can meet you and your lovely wife.
On your agenda I think an evening of your poetry should be added.
:D
Denise.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LC FORUM POET LAUREATE

Yes, for those of you not on our walking tour in Haiger ( this honour was bestowed on Yorkshire Lad then)

Phil , your latest poem is a masterpiece.

You have the gift to put down in words what most of us feel or think.

I hope someone gets it to Mr Cohen to read, I am sure he would love it.

Keep writing, its a joy to read.
Wish you and your lovely Jean were coming to one of the concerts I was attending but I know we will meet next year for sure for a walk.

Hope Jean is spoiling you bigtime today

xxx
