Yep! I knew I was right all along... this thread has gotten way out of hand, painful and boring to read.

Good luck to everyone attending the concerts in Sligo...

If I was going, I would ignore these threads from now on, get my ticket, and just arrive in Sligo and then let the magic begin!

I've stayed out of the fray and still intend to do so, but just a comment. For all I care, "DiscoverSligo" can be undiscovered. I've travelled the world....and I've travelled the world for Leonard. Somehow I've managed to successfully survive, and enjoy each city/country/continent I may be on at the moment. I've also discovered everything myself...whether by books, internet, friends, or acquaintances in those countries who have offered advice. I realize Sligo is somewhat off the beaten path but probably 75% of the fans attending will be from either Ireland or the UK and perhaps somewhat familiar with the area. The remaining 25% of us are really pretty resourceful. This is not a tiny village on the Amazon, or the gorilla forests of Gambon.

Many thanks to Carlowmike for all his initial efforts AND the meeting tomorrow in Sligo. Most of all I think we will appreciate info on transportation back and forth to the venue....and MUCH appreciate the selection of the Garavogue for a meetup place (including the Library) and your plans for a dinner on the 30th. I think most everything else will simply fall into place.

"DiscoverSligo" has shared a lot a information BUT, this is readily available to all of us. We really can manage on our own. I am looking forward tremendously to spending time in Yeats country...in fact, I'll probably be spending more time than most fans, but let's all just relax and let things be for awhile, except for the information Carlowmike will share with us after his meeting tomorrow.

I said several months ago in San Jose that if there was ever another concert in Ireland nothing could prevent me from being there! Leonard is my reason for being in Sligo! Leonard. Leonard and the band. Otherwise I would probably never be in Sligo. But while I am there I will see as much as possible, learn as much as possible......and leave as much money for the local economy as possible! ;-) ;-)

ps..@Tinderella...I agree wholeheartedly!

If it is a mutual agreement here, I will delete the membership of Discoversligo, and this makes all their messages disappear. This forum is not for commercial information. So, should I do it?

I am quite happy for a link to Discoversligo to be posted, but I don't think that a commercial organisation should be posting directly onto the forum.

If Discoversligo sets a precendent we will soon have Ticketmaster , Ryanair and Guinness all making postings as to how we can get the best from our trip to Sligo!

The membership of Discover Sligo has been discontinued and the messages were automatically deleted. This means that some messages in this thread have no logic any more. I will try to clean the thread at some point.

I am really sorry that I have come to this thread so late in the day.

It looks like it started out so well and ended in carnage

Thank you for these words. They sum up my feelings exactly though I could not and have not put it so eloquently.

I'm not sure it even started out well Paula and it's certainly "had its moments" but ultimately I believe it will end in peace and harmony mingled with overwhelming excitement ....
