I think I should change my facebook status to "anyone want to lend me $500 next week" I really have been spoiled with 2nd row seats in detroit...but will have to get nose bleed seats this time i'm sure. BUT THAT'S OKAY...I CAN'T EXPRESS how excited I am!!!!!!! YIPPY SKIPPY :)

Hope to meetup with fellow cohen fans before/after the nashville show, i know some great honky-tonks

I would like to add my welcome to cjs and to say how happy I am that your husband is now a convert. This makes things so much easier all around for you :D .

On another note, I will never, never, skip a day on the forum again! I was so proud of myself for weaning myself off daily multiple visits and and skipped just one day and look at all I had missed. Oh the horror of it all! Never again - no matter what my husband says!

Contrite regards,
Mary

For past shows, Jarkko has posted the presale passwords and all the information on the forum in good time for the presale. He has already mentioned in the other thread in this section that the presale information will be posted in good time. So just keep checking back in the "Fall Tour 2009 in USA" thread and you should be fine.

Gerry, I know: we are incredibly fortunate. But I see you're from Ireland: it seems like you've had some fabulous concerts come your way too!!

Yes, me too..... :( :( Having got very wet at Weybridge and had seats which meant that LC was a dot in the distance, I had extracted a promise from the Husband that we would go to the very next Indoor Show that we could get to. Oh well, maybe next year???

From Philly.com - The Philadelphia Inquirer
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/magazine ... tment.html
Leonard Cohen to play the Spectrum
In what's shaping up to be quite an October in South Philly, Leonard Cohen will return to town to play the Spectrum on Oct. 22. (Bruce Springsteen is already on the docket for Oct. 13 and 14, and Pearl Jam will close out the building on Oct. 28 and 30.) You might recall that the poet-troubadour, who will be 75 by the time he plays the Spectrum, played the Academy of Music in May and put on a show that an Inquirer critic called "magnificent." Tickets go on sale Aug. 3. More info on Cohen's home page. - Dan DeLuca

Thank you, Evie B for really, truly understanding. Just my state alone equates more closely to England in size than not. I haven't checked literally, but visually, and that's close enough to make my point. All of Europe is a hop, skip, and jump to almost anywhere over there.

Understanding the hype would be much easier, for those of you over there who can't, had the announce been that he was continuing another round in Europe... as you've understood all the hype regarding those times in the past. As already duly noted, it's 3:1... and, even with that 1, the distances and expenses are HUGE... and those who've had the privilege of the 3, MULTIPLE concerts have been well within your reach.

So, all that said, thanks for being blissed for us... those of you who are.

In reading the venues, I would never have thought Florida! "Florida!?! No way!!!" I used to say ~ and MEANT it... "Not now, not ever!" I'm happy beyond measure knowing I can actually drive :D ! With a day in between, I can return home, feed and see my cats, and then off again 8) !

:D 8) :D YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY :D 8) :D

Next year? Don't you think he deserves a rest? He has been singing his heart out for us for over a year! It has been fantastic and we should all be grateful for all these great shows he and the band have put on for us.

I agree, Marsha.

Look at how far we have come since the days we told people that we were so terribly sorry, but Leonard wouldn't be touring anymore. We have been so blessed with what we've been given that we have no right to ask more. We are not the stranger standing in the doorway.

Yes, I know and I am grateful. Didn't mean to appear selfish and uncaring. I am always aware that Leonard is not young, works very hard and, of course, his health and wellbeing are paramount. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression! Actually I was quite concerned about his health following the drenching he received at Weybridge. Good to hear that he is fit enough to do more performances. Enjoy - all you who will be going. :)

Mary - given your comment you will surely understand how I felt last week on vacation when I had no internet access AT ALL. First 4 days - no problem, the hotel wi-fi service was great and I managed a sneak peep at the forum at least once a day. Then Tuesday 21 we moved on to a hideaway retreat up a mountain in a remote part of Cape Breton, NS. What can I say? Their internet access worked - not great but it worked - when we were last there in October '08. This time it didn't. At all. I tried frantic phone calls to my son at home to find out what the Big Announcement was but that didn't work either as the best connection I managed to get on my cell lasted all of 18 seconds!

My husband couldn't see my problem - and I thought he UNDERSTOOD ...

Oh the bliss of arriving home again on Monday evening and switching THE MACHINE back on. Trouble is, so much has happened in the past week that I don't stand a chance of ever catching up with all the chatter. A vote for the mosaic design and a request for photos, the final tour dates, Tel Aviv is ON, everyone is very (over)excited and Leonard Cohen Forum members have launched a takeover bid for Southwest Airlines. Did I miss anything out?

Wendy
