up north in newcastle we have some big arenas, so why is it always down south,travel and hotels cost as much as the tickets?

Does anybody know when the concert starts on September 8th as ticket says 3.00.Is this start time or gates open time? Would hate to miss anything!

Fairly sure that 3pm is gates open.
