huge prayer flags flying in the wind made up of Polka Dot blouses!!!
I am now seriously thinking of doing this if I had volunteers to help me and we got someone to put them up somewhere!
Les (Mutti)

I can think of a few people...

Carlowmike: i have a buddy living near Sligo. He is a big Leonard fan and has a ticket for the Saturday show. it will be his first time seeing Leonard! He is off next week moving house but is happy to go along on Tuesday to lend a bit of support so was wondering when and where the meeting is on? He works in Purchasing so might be a help to get the best discounts if ye can!!!

carlowmike: just noticed you have sent me two e-mails. I provided my e mail address to the moderators of this site on signing up. I would not dream of contacting another member via e-mail unless they requested it. You can reply on the forum or via a PM. I have no intention of communicating with you by e-mail. I questioned the validity of one forum member and also asked another forum member about their requests. Why did you feel the need to reply on behalf of two forum members unconnected to you when your name was not mentioned in either query? The only query I have asked of you since is the time and venue of Tuesday's meeting. Reply by forum (or PM if secrecy is vital to you).

69 Days To Go.
The more the merrier I say.
As soon as I know of Venue for the meeting I will let you know, I believe it is planned for 11am on Tuesday. a later time would suit me better but earlier suits them.
Nothing formal, just a gathering of "Coming Together For Sligo" seeking advice on what they can do to ensure all goes well for the people visiting Sligo over that weekend.
looking forward to meeting your buddy, carlowmike.

You can switch off the facility for forum members to contact you by e-mail. Go to the User Control Panel and select the Board Preferences tab. One of the first questions is whether members can contact you by e-mail. BTW Your e-mail address is not exposed unless and until you respond to an e-mail sent to you via the forum.

Sorry Radar,
I am not yet fully knowledgeable of the protocol involved in the use of the Forum,
but I am learning every day.
I thought it was okay to send messages via Email to Members (apoligies to other Members as well ).
I have now sent you a PM in reply to some of the issues you have raised.
I believe I may be responsible for some new Members joining us,
as any requests I recevied on my personal email address I recommended that they should join the Forum,
thus I may have mentioned them in my Email to you, not sure in what context but it's not beyond me to do so.
Since I first stumbled on this Forum I have recommended it to dozens of Leonard Cohen fans..carlowmike.
PS. I only realize now that you sent previous Post regarding Tuesday's meeting, would be delighted to have your buddy with me, I am sure that being from the area his input would be appreciated.

Problem with link to shuttle buses,
bear in mind that there will be other bus companies providing transport.

Well
I'm here on the east coast of the country and the sun is shinning. I've popped "Leonard Cohen Live in London 2008" DVD in and i'm listening to him Growl with his Angels, Sharon and the sublime Webb Sisters in the backround. His narration is similar to Kilmainham and so it floods my head with memories of that great day when after 22 years of adoration, I saw my idol.......
And now i'm dancing in my kitchen and enjoying him and his genius.
And that my friends is what this forum should be about. Fans sharing our little "lenny moments" The one's that people who aren't fans just don't understand. We don't need to come on here and see people being managed into corners and told what they should and shouldn't think, or voice, on an open forum. And the over use of quotes from Lenny's songs drives me mad. We all have our own interpritation of his music and to me that's a really personal thing, and something that should be celebrated in friendly discussions and not used to somehow "scold" people. Are we not all Adults?
the only information / things I need on the 31st July day are these:
What time is my bus coming to pick me up
Where is the champagne tent
Have I enough money for emergencies
Have I my mobile phone in case I get lost
Have I got my Camera???
Have I got a business card from my hotel so i know where i'm going if I get lost etc..
after that i'm going to enjoy the company and the music and hopefully the sun will be shinning, but if not i'll have my rain jacket with me anyhow...
I can't wait.....
3 times in 3 years, when I thought my love affair would be confinded to overplayed tapes & then CD's ...

Good thinking Wendy, the ticket would be useful.
OMG, that's funny.

Yes, I've found some things irritating here too, but the most irritating of all is reference to our "lenny" moments. Why the abbreviation of Leonard's name???
