Don't mean to be a spoilsport, but while Leonard arranged this song, it was written by R. Blakeslee.

Agree it is a pun, but original spelling uses the kid's name. Should be Cain, not cane.

You're right [of course ] ~ I'd forgotten that "Passing Through" wasn't written by Leonard. The lyrics posted in the Files show it as "cane," though I've always 'heard' it as "Cain." I'm guessing you mean the "original" as being the lyrics, as written by the original writer.
