A minor point of order, Bhasi wrote......
Our Man is scheduled to be 'in conversation' with Philip Glass at the Barbican (London - UK) on 20 October just before the UK premiere of the Book of Longing work.
The 20th is three days after the UK premiere, which is in Cardiff, Wales.

Rob.

Ah I see, in that case apologies. I just feel it would be strange if someone bought a ticket for this event now that we know Cohen would be there if they wouldn't previously have done.

And forgive me - I'm a grammar pedant - it's "Pete and me" :)

Happy to say that I saw the American Premier of Book of Longing in Charleston, South Carolina at the Spoleto Festival last month (Leonard wasn't there, although he did appear at the North American Premier - I think it was June 1st - in Canada (Toronto, I believe).

The Glass musical setting worked very well with Leonard's words - also heard Glass the following day in a "conversation" with a moderator from the festival. CD will be out (according to Glass) within the year. No DVD is planned (I know, because I asked him during the Q & A from the floor).

By all means, if you have the ways and means to go, go.

The review of the Spoleto performance was very positive.... and yes, the first ever performance was in Toronto, and the weekend included a moderated conversation with Leonard and Philip Glass.

In Toronto, the art gallery appearance was only for vip's connected with Luminato.

Agree with your take in any case..... If at all possible, fans should give this work a look. Linda and I are also seeing twice this weekend in NYC.

Glad you will be coming too Sherry. Anybody keeping a fan headcount?

Fantastic that you are coming, Dick and Sherry! I think there might be about 25 of us, although this could be a rather conservative estimate. I saw Padma in Manchester on the weekend and she hopes soon to announce the venue for our meet-up during the day leading up to the pre-concert talk. Then we can list everyone and add those who have yet to declare themselves. Another great day in the offing.

Rob, you are quite right, the premiere is in Cardiff 8) on the 17th. See you and John there. I'll contact Wendy, hope she can make it too.

Delighted to share that Helen and I got tickets today for the show. Looking forward to meeting everyone again on 20th October and, of course, to seeing the great man himself.

Great, Shiela and Helen, be good to see you. (You are going to Mullingar, too, aren't you? We also hope to have a little meet on the day before Mullingar, 27th July, in Dublin. I don't know where in Ireland you live, but let us know if you two can make it.)

Dear guys, I cannot believe it, I have very recently given up my dream having another occasion to see Leonard again (last time was in 1976) having lost all the recent Anjani's presentation tour where he was present (London, Oslo, Warsaw ecc).
Tell me did I read and understand it well? ??? Could this really be THE OCCASION????
We also have already got tickets for the 20th oct and already look so much forward to meeet all of you there ....and now we even have this occasion together :D
I still cannot believe it....would be wonderful if it gets true :D :D :D
Hugs

Andrea and Marco it will be lovely to see you again.

There are so many forum members going we are going to have to arrange a proper meet up in the afternoon somewhere.

I can't wait to meet you all again. I bet there are not that many forums that have such a worldwide membership and meet up so often!

This remains me of the slogan we invented on Hydra:

Be a Cohenite and see the world!
