Hi Diane,
I don't remember the Hammersmith 1985 concert (first one) too well. As it happens, I used the concert to try to re-unite with a girl-friend. Not only did it not work, but she dragged me away before the last encore, so that she could get a drink! All good wishes, John E

Geesh! The sacrifices we make for unrequited love  ! What a miss [in both senses]... well, at least you had hits enough to get you through as our current, heavyweight champion for number of performances, seen right through to the end :D 8) .

The only record I have is for the fewest live LC performances attended. I became aware of his existence around the time he was climbing, and now I'm a poor grad student, and he isn't doing much live performing anyway. I had wanted to see Anjani in NY, but this turned out to not be within my reach. I'm now subtracting 1 for each year that concludes without my seeing a live performance of either of them. So far, I have seen Leonard perform live negative 14 times, and I have seen Anjani negative 1 time.

Oh, someday, someday, someday...

   Honest, Manna, I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune... you simply must take some responsibility in this, though. It is not my fault that you were so funny. It's just a convergence in the roads of circumstance... your humour and my laughter.

Now, I feel compelled to inform you that in the negative senses, I have you beat  . Geesh... what a bummer, eh? Just when you thought you'd at least won in that category  ... one you were solely responsible for creating.

BACK... So, there I was standing peacefully at the kitchen sink, doing dishes, just thinking. And, it came to me, in a different sort of way  ~ you're not GOING, Manna!?! Leonard's music led you to an entirely different path in your life... tiffs or no tiffs... BOTH of you ought to be there. If not both, then at least you! It's on a Sunday night... not to get all pryie, but, Manna  ! Think about this... seriously. You've wanted to see Anjani... you've wanted to see Leonard. There are some REALLY really cheap flights out there... . What if Leonard and Anjani don't tour with the release of his/including her, new album? What if this is your only chance to see them? Why add still another perform Live negative time to the scrap pile??

Okay... all explanations welcome and accepted.

Hi Tom,
I've just spoken to Jim Devlin, and given him your greetings. Jim told me that he has seen Leonard live eight times, including a 1979 show (his first) and three 1988 shows. Best wishes, John E

I have seen Leonard twice. Once in Central Park when Judy Collins
introduced a new singer. He sang wonderfully. His honesty
was so refreshing. Then sometime in the early 70's in Berkeley
when the the power went out. Leonard just asked everyone to move closer and
he would sing without the power. Leonard said to ignore the fire codes.
Everyone gladly did. The power ultimately came on. We all felt so priveleged.

Dear Sealharvey ~

You have been privy to two incredible concerts ~ one cornerstone and one milestone. You're aware of how precious your concert attendances are, right?

Dear Lizzy,

Being somewhat isolated and more of a quiet guy I am glad
to hear that those two concerts were so noteworthy. Leonard's music
has always been important to me. I track alot of my memories with
his words and feelings.

I have been lucky and will be going to the 9 P.M. show on Tuesday.

Oh, that's wonderful, Sealharvey. I can see how much you appreciate your ability to be there. I predicated my purchase of ticket based on my work schedule, so didn't buy one for that show.
Being somewhat isolated and more of a quiet guy I am glad
to hear that those two concerts were so noteworthy.
The first concert you attended was Leonard's first, his introduction to the world as a singer/songwriter. That concert is recalled and talked about by many for how Judy Collins made the music world aware of him, and for his honest and simple charm, without pretension.

The second concert has a particular charm and is one many of us have read about and so clearly demonstrates Leonard's simplicity of charm and simple resolution of what others might find distressing. In a wholly different vein, but demonstrating the same principle, it's reminiscent of a Miss America contest, where the high heel of one of the contestants broke as she was going down the walkway. She casually reached down and removed her other shoe and seamlessly continued her walk, commenting that it's more natural to be barefoot, anyway. Leonard's not being daunted by the fire codes and loss of power simply invited people to move closer, such an act of someone who truly loves his fans, so that he might continue the concert acoustically. You recall so well the effect it had on you and everyone else because all of you felt privileged to be embraced by his heart.
Leonard's music has always been important to me. I track alot of my memories with his words and feelings.
Yes, I know what you mean, Sealharvey. I'm so happy for you that you'll be able to see and hear Leonard in still another milestone of his life, as well as your own.

Enjoy the show 8) ... and please get back with us with your report of your experience :D .
