Ln, now that is impressive witchcraft. Go figure how many people have been sacrificed on the altar of Celebrity, a god that can be very generous but is blood drinker also. Go figure. Yes.

Tom, Greg wrote "from the other thread in this forum". Are people do read posts? djizewiz. OK you were in vacation so you may not have catch up all the chit-chat by now. You have a good excuse. It was in the thread about the bombs in London. Who hates her, Tom? First time I hear about it.

Margaret, Britney Spears has to do with the singing nun what she has to do with Leonard Cohen. In my mind.

This said, how I do agree with the quality of LC's voice so much. Thinking about it, I should be entitled to give him the cheque. I you can trust somedoby, it is me. (of course)

To equate Leonard with Britney, on any level, is an abomination against Leonard.

Tom ~ I don't see Britney as being hated or reviled, but rather that her media exposure [intended or not] has made her a caricature of herself. She's more discounted than anything. If a person wants to characterize "shallow" in human form, it's easily done by 'calling up' the name of Britney/Britney Spears.

Isn't she the most hated person in 2005, according to the those magazines' votes they do every year? That was in July in newsmagazine, I think. Victoria Beckham is at #2 or so...
Tchoco, you're right, I missed one month of threads, but I'll not read much, as nothing important happened... I'll simply follow the new things. There's to much other things to do in life nowadays, so I'll limit myself to more focused discussions I hope.

Perhaps, Tom  ~ I just don't read those magazines  . I think the fact that she would be voted #1 speaks to the magazines' calibre to begin with ~ if hating is to be done, are there not more 'appropriate' recipients for that emotion  ? [This is not to say that you read 'trash' magazines, but simply that the info that comes to you is not necessarily reliable  .]

Oh! I see now, what you meant. Why? Maybe because she has talents that she uses at the maximum she can, in addition of being young, pretty, sexy, rich, and a celebrity. Only one of these things may be enough to be hate by some envious negative people, so I guess that when you have many you can be number 1 of this kind of weird chart.

Hum... Tom, Tom, Tom, (Sakic, Sakic, Sakic) my father would have told you to chose your words better, to say, for example, that what was written for the last past month was unfortunately not in your priorities in regard of your tight schedule and the clock having only 24 hours so far. This 'cause what is important to others may not be for you but it is very bad manners to say it is not important at large. Well. Were is that gentleman's behavior you claimed red-face to have (in another thread about a month ago)?

I hope you had fantastic vacation and welcome back.

At the risk of repeating Tchoco's statement:

Do mean you'll limit yourself to more focused discussions like this one on Britney? Or do you mean we can't talk about salt anymore, or look at nice/macabre pictures?

LOTS of important things happened!! So many, I just couldn't begin to fill you in. Now that you're back, you can look around (I bet your inbox is packed though).

Linda.

Did you pack his inbox with what I think Ln? Don't answer, it is not of my business, first, and second, my schedule... 24 hours... etc.

She certainly seems 'shallow' to me - nobody is perfect - although I don't really know her, in fact. I learned about her through a very young male fan who was indeed as under her spell as some LC's fans can be in regard of the sexy side - a side the author of the article is stressing and only this side - which I find not offensive at all but simplistic in the case of Leonard Cohen.

Brittany Spears strikes me as a vacuous young woman having as much substance as mist on water.a brackish wisp of feme fatale.uggh.

My inbox was indeed packed with 65 messages (nothing from Linda, I must say :? ) but I solved that and get the most important insights in the actual happenings. It was summer season, it seems nothing particular didn't happened...
You're right, I know, my words were not correct on some levels 8) I'll never succeed to talk less on this place :D Because I like it. But when you come after four weeks and the forum is packed with 50 pages of articles, well, everyone of us would see at glance (according to threads' titles) what's important and what's connected to the actual news from LC's and proceed from new, fresh beginning. And I am mostly too much online, so I'd really need to take care of my health  The *real news* which waited for me when I come back - which I had to read between the lines in all those sensational chat - was that Anjani's album is finished and great, that the new book is also in final stages, and it has 224 pages with line drawings and colour art, that Leonard feels excellent, and I like to hear that he still wakes up at 4am and goes to his backyard studio, that the new album is about to be started, that the tour maybe will actually happen next year, that the movie is shown in Toronto... And I am not interested in Kelley Lynch.

Lizzytsyh, I don't read such magazines  But every daily newspaer here has the page called "Life" or "Spectacles" or "Stars" (the same page where all of them published "Leonard Cohen's Financial Breakdown" news :? ) - and on those pages are such things re-taken from other UK or US magazines. Like, the most unpopular celebrities (Britney, Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham, Madonna, etc), or most sexies (Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt), plus you have the best tits, the best legs, the best asses, pardon me, you know, the most sexiest woman in the world (Eva Longoria, whoever she might be) - don't tell me that your TVs or magazines aren't full of that? Or is it just here? :? :(

Oh, no.....we have those here, too, Tom [they had to originate from somewhere  ]. They're not generally included in the daily newspapers, though. I guess once in awhile, in the entertainment section, a blurb might surface with that content, but those are usually found in the ragmags, with the "Most Beautiful" being a People magazine, etc. thing.

Well, our daily newspapers have section by pages: Politics, Zagreb, Country, World News, Finance, Sport, Culture, and then there's that pages which grows day by day, Gossip, nicely titled Life in one, and Spectacles in another newspapers. I know everything about Kate Moss' new boyfriend, Sharapova's popularity and incoming, and Madonna's cabalistic daily rituals.
"To originate from somewhere..." ... that's what I was thinking also

"The cradle of the best and the worst" ~ but, since I don't buy the mags, and so far at least most of our newspapers don't have sections devoted to those fascinating articles, you may have to keep me up on things, Tom  .

To stop reading of daily newspapers is first on my list, lizzytysh. 2) Watch only the stuff I really like on TV!... Like Star Trek: Enterprise every day at 19:15 hours. 8)
Unfortunately, here we have total spreading of sensational journalism thru all the TV stations and press, and also total big-brotherisation of TVs. I think we're in very bad transition period. It's common in all Central-European, former Communist countries these years.
