One of the things I wanted to do in life is to see a concert at the Arena di Verona. Now if it turned out to be Leonard playing there indeed this would mean an x-potential fulfillment of a dream.

Hotel is booked just in case.

Thanks to Andrea and Paul !

That's what I was thinking too. What colour would you suggest for candles? ;-)

Same thoughts here. I'd love to see Leonard on his birthday. Roll on Monday until we get answers. I did check does Ryanair fly to Verona though and they do ;-)

I like seeing Italy scheduled so far out.
I would LOVE it if our getting a TOUR 'schedule' on Monday would result in people deciding to come to the Madison Event, after all... knowing they wouldn't be missing out on seeing Leonard!

Hope you're right, lizzytysh - I'm sure Joe, Anne and others have already put HUGE work into the Madison event, but to be honest, if it comes to Live Leonard versus Madison - minus - Leonard, no contest !!!

I hope the powers that be have taken this into consideration...

Apparently Verona is the closest to this part of Europe. One hour by train from Venice, according to D-Bahn website. So Ken expect me on Santa Lucia station in Venice on 7:30 am on train from Budapest-Zagreb..... We will see about hotels later. The most important thing is to get a ticket in FIRST ROWS now. Other cities seem way out of reach because I cannot afford flying for 200, 300 Euros right now. Maybe in the last moment decision.

Easy, Tom :) If the rumours prove to be true, there will be plenty of time between the first date (August 12th) and the last (September 25 so far) for a lot of more cities closer to your place. I don't say you shouldn't book a refundable room in Verona (like me) but the chances for a closer venue are quite good IMO and I hope we'll meet in Austria, Slovenia or even in Croatia or Budapest :)

I just realised that I traveled to Verona in 2007 for a big Italian Leonard Cohen meet-up... viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9478&hilit=verona+gathering

Now, why do I *not* remember seing any arena? (going mad  :o )

But I do recall a photo of me holding Giulietta's, khm, breast was made...

But surely it was fast and nice trip, taking Budapest-Zagreb-Ljubljana-Venice overnight train and then 1-hour train to Verona.

Not sure about it, but I'm afraid that train doesn't exist anymore :(
