Since there are 2 new CDs in the offing, surely the collection will no longer be "complete"? Would it not be better until these could be included?

According to an email i have received and that sends me a link to www.leonardcohen.com there are TWO different sets coming out on October11: One is this 11 CDs Complete studio albums. Another is called The complete Columbia albums collection which apparently consists of 17 Studio and live albums..... Quite confusing i must say....

The first is a cheap set of all studio albums while the second is a more expensive set of all live and studio albums, with a booklet. Limited edition - it will be sold out before "Old Ideas" comes next Spring.
All albums are said to be remastered in both boxes.

Do you have any information on whether the 17 CD box will be available in Europe? According to the official website, it is available exclusively through the website and only to customers in the US and Canada. Tom found some evidence that it would be on sale in Croatia but there is no mention of it on Amazon UK.

I have pre-ordered the 11 CD box but would prefer to have the full collection if I can buy it here for a reasonable price.

Thanks Roman. They've changed it since I looked a couple of days ago, when the site clearly said that it was not available outside the US and Canada.

Does anybody know the actual terms (or an usual practise)? -
One day they'll raise the price from today's $119.99 to the original $169.99.
Would it be October 11, 2011 (the release date)?

I asked for further clarification from local Sony distributor in Croatia:

ONLY 11 albums box-set is going to the general sale.

The other one (17 albums) is limited edition for the leonardcohen.com only... So far. (We will see what happens later, but for a time being, Sony distributes only studio albums collection.)

According to some notes I got from Sony I believe the 17 CD box is a collectors' item with both limited edition and limited distribution.
I pointed out them that the title ("Complete...") will be accurate only until next Spring (when "Old Ideas" is going to be released), and
they said this limited number of the 17CD box will be sold out by then.

Jarkko, I'm only discovering this box set now and I'm Your Man tracks via ITunes. They sound great!!! Big improvement sound wise over the original cd. Sounds much more analogue based, less tinny and fuller. This has made my day... Almost. Take This Waltz is only the "Paris" version. Any idea where I can get my hands on the original album version of this majestic track remastered to complete the album in glorious sound?? Seems odd that they wouldn't include the album version. After all, I thought that was the point of the collection!!

Apologies- ignore and forgive my ignorance. I thought from something I read on the Net Paris version didn't contain Ms. Warned' beautiful backing but it does so all well. Lovely sounding album remaster.

I see Old Ideas is now included on the ITunes version of the release. Wonder if that has been remastered?

I have the boxed set at home but can't check now because our house is under renovation. Anybody else would like to comment?
