I suggested a residency in Ireland to Robert Kory ;-)

I' m still a little hope in my heart that perhaps there will be another tour. If not, I am grateful for the last three years, where I could see him a few times. And for the wonderful LC forum which I found in 2008 after his first concert in Vienna and the many nice people I met and the friendships that may have caused.
And if they do not we have his songs, his poems and the many wonderful memories of his concerts.
I am grateful and perhaps we should still have a little patience, you never know if it still happens a miracle.

A residency is a fab idea bv, and might I shamelessly suggest....London! In all seriousness, I will treasure all the times I managed to see him (far more than I expected at first), and continue to hope for even a couple of shows when the new album comes out. But I am deeply grateful for what he has given us.

hmm "there are now no plans for a tour" - I wonder were there plans that have now been abandoned OR no plans as we speak but may be in the future. As I have already posted elsewhere given that Leonard did not have a tour this year I think it is fair to say that, given his age and this must be considered, it is unlikely that he will undertake another world tour. I know he is presently working on a new album and perhaps, following it's release, hopefully later in the year, a less arduous arrangement regarding appearances by Leonard will be possible. I hope so.

My money is on that he will tour sometime after the new album is out. Maybe bigger venues but far less gigs. :D

Now don't start Chinese whispers over this, as it is only my thoughts. I have no inside info on the matter, just my own hunch as to how Leonard must have felt about the experience of the last three year tour and it will be too great a pull to not have the desire to want to do it again. 8) ;-)

Then again..................

"no plans" does not mean "no tours", does it :?:

I wrote Robert for clarification. He responded on the question of whether Leonard would tour:

"There are simply no plans for the moment; focus in on delivering the record"

Here you have the final part of the programme "Carne Cruda" ("Raw
Meat") in Radio 3
http://www.elclubdejazz.com/envivo/inde ... cruda.html

You must enter the 13th July and around the 13' 22'' minute Javier Mas
tells about new album and tour. The translation is:

- Journalist: "Have you spoken to Cohen about the Prince of Asturias Award?"

- Javier Mas: "Yes, I told him. He was very happy and very grateful".

- Journalist: "Will there be a new tour or a new album?"

- Javier Mas: "The album is almost finished. Then we'll stop, I think
that for the promotion of the album. And we'll start the tour next year".

In the interview, Javier Mas tells about his life and instruments
(bandurria, archilaud,..). He explains how he met Cohen thanks to
"According to Leonard Cohen" project. And about Cohen, Javier Mas say
that Cohen is " a good fellow".

Thanks Chema for the link and translation.

I guess Robert Kory is the authority on the current position. So far as 2012 is concerned, Javier is probably just expressing what we all hope will happen.

One thing does intrigue me: I had understood that Leonard would be recording the new album on his own. However, we have already seen a photo of Dino in the studio with Leonard and the quote from Javier suggests to me that he has also been involved. Do you have any further information Marie or Jarkko?

Wendy,
I know I am not an important person, but I think it was evident for all of us: UHTC has been working with Leonard on the new album.

I believe the Webb sisters have already said that they are not involved so it doesn't seem to be the whole band. However, my point was more that there seemed to have been a change of plan / direction in that band members were now, evidently, involved in the album.

Marie, thank you so much for that!! I am breathing sighs of relief!

Chema, thank you too, for conveying Javier's words, which are evoking more sighs of relief!!

I sometimes (often 8) ) also thought that back in Leonard (2012) sets out on a new World Tour. After concerts in 2010 in Katowice and Bratislava, I remain very fond memories. In fact, I get not enough to organize my thoughts, because my mind was completely out of it. The concerts I've lived a very emotional, for example. in Katowice, the concert I felt that it ended quickly, while in Bratislava,I have, also viewed the details, but anyway, I was very fascinated by Leonard. That his voice is so seductive, captivating and irresistible.
So only hope for repeat again.
Here I found something where Leonard had said that would have returned to Bratislava:
