Here's the situation with the gift of the computer:

My son DID give me his computer when he recently "moved" to Europe.
BUT, he ended up coming back to the states rather quickly, and unexpectedly. Again LONG STORY!!!!

He is currently living with my husband and I, and he IS using the computer A WHOLE LOT!!!!

Once he gets his "life in order", I will be able to use the computer more than just a few minutes a day.

Today he slept VERY late into the day and that's why I've been able to post this much today. But he's up and showered and all that stuff, so I'm SURE this will be my last post of the day.

I'm SO GLAD you remember me. I sure DO remember you.

Well, Paula ~ A-a-a-s you kn-o-o-o-w, you Brits don't know a Robin from a Robyn, anyway ! So, what's a little more confusion in avianland . I was tempted to tell Robin we'd, in fact, had a discourse on robins awhile back, but something told me not to bother at that point. Obviously, it was because there was a segue on the way [hmmm, now who could that be ].

About the spelling of my name. Years ago, Robin (like me) was spelled with an "i" for either male or female.

Then, what I call the "new age" in the spelling of names came along. That's when a lot of people began spelling it with a "y".

I've noticed that a Robin spelled with a "y", is a younger person than I am. I'm 50.

That's about it for my explanation of the spelling of my name.

It's not that common a name here. I've only met one other Robin in my life. In school, I was ALWAYS the ONLY Robin in ALL my classes.

What I DO wonder about is WHY Robin is so popular for a boys name in England?

Can you shed any light on that one for me Paula? I noticed you're from London, England.

Robin is not a popular name here. I can think of a few Robin Day, Robin Cook and my personal favourite Robin Gibbs.

I don't know if it ever has been a popular name here. We have a lot of John's and William's and Matthews and girls Susan, Carol, Margaret (loads of Margaret everyone I know is called Margaret ) classic names and there are the "Ophray Winfey" (sic) names like La Toya, Whitney etc.

No, not at all ......I'm just still in therapy for having, even for a moment, at the behest of another, questioned the identity of my own, State Bird! As I recall at the onset, my therapist told me to just stay away from that thread until I was strong enough to go back . Obviously, I returned to the proximity of the topic too soon . In fact, however, now that you've mentioned it, as you'll recall, the expectation is that if a robin is to alight on a Christmas tree, it must ensure that it is seen.....being mistaken for a scrub of dirt is just not the same as being 'seen' .
