This particular tour may have ended, but it will live forever in our hearts and our minds. Leonard Cohen gave us precious memories that we will always cherish, and nothing can take that away from us. He filled us with hope and beauty and love and joy, and our lives are better because of it. So, please don't be sad, Leonard wouldn't want that. If you can't help it, at least allow some cheerfulness to break through, watch some videos or listen to some live recordings, and let a smile mix with your tears. It was far too wonderful to look back on it with only heavy hearts. Leonard lifted our spirits to unimaginable heights, and so it only seems right that we should honour him by trying to keeping them up there!

TipperaryAnn - even if the best has come and gone, I'm so thankful that I was able to attend and be inspired by Leonard.

I have not been able to watch one video of the Las Vegas shows. I just can't bring myself to see them as I know this is the end of them for perhaps quite a while. I just cannot do it. :(

Aaaah A.Sukitu,
Those are all the things that I am already doing (in addition to using this forum as my support group). Such sage advice - thank you!

After Las Vegas Dec. 11:

Gaby: The dice are cast? Could it truly have been the last concert? Is there any hope out there?

Paul: Yes, is there any hope out there? Will I get her back now or have I lost her forever? Is Prozac adequate to lift her mood? Will there be other 2011 holiday destinations except Montreal, Hydra or Mount Baldy? And when will I be allowed to put on some Neil Young record during dinner? Finally, where is the next support group for husbands of wives suffering from Cohenphilic personality disorder (If there is no group nearby, I´m going to establish one). --------------
By the way, I am addicted too (sigh!).

A thousand thanks to Leonard and the UHTC.

And regards to Regine from Luzern/Switzerland and her husband (would he like to join the group?)

Yes, it does, doesn't it! :) Once "gloomy Sunday" was over the sun began to emerge from behind the clouds again and the mood here lightened. Not on the Las Vegas thread, though, where emotions are running VERY high. Having read there about so many people "in tears" I'm beginning to think a cooling off period might be good for all of us!

Well said and you are so right. Leonard wouldn't want us to feel sad. We have got the most amazing memories and thanks to Leonard I had the best moment of my life when I met him and the best concert of my life in Lissadell. It is those memories that will lift my heart. He has given us all so much already and for that I'm truly grateful. The end of one experience is the start of another. Don't get me wrong I'm sad too but I don't want it to overshadow the brilliance Leonard and co has given us.

Leonard Cohen gave his last concert last night, in that "most un-magical " of places, Las Vegas.
Yes, Tipperary Ann, as Leonard said, Las Vegas, the "most un-magical" of places, it's so true... yet, inside the Colosseum, the night became transcendent.

With Leonard leading the way, we became totally unaware of anything outside that room.
Inside that room, we became us... and the unknown multitudes of those outside, engaged in their various activities,
never crossed our minds... and only Leonard and his people touched our hearts.

To find yourself encapsulated, away from the Vegas madness, and gratefully ensconced in the spiritual realms,
leaves us much to be thankful to Leonard for and reveals in no uncertain terms, the strength of his being.

Thank you, Leonard.

Love,
Lizzy

Totally agree. You described it exactly as I would have. There have been many criticisms of various places on the tour notable Israel but for me it is the fans and of course Leonard and the crew and band that is important. While location is also important it is secondary to those facts. We were extremely lucky with our location in Lissadell and of course it did add to the wonderful ambiance but I'd go anywhere to see Leonard.

P.S Lizzy love your signature!!!

Gaby & Paul
Hi Gaby and Paul

Great Paul! Many husbands feel the same way, I guess! We will meet somewhere in 2012 at the latest and our seats are next to each other - as always - without
planning it   !!!

Gaby, I'm asking myself whether I will ever listen to other songs - than LC's  !! Funny, that it is the same for you - just listening LC after the first concert 2008, for more than two years... - and a new album will be released and probably "More Songs From The Road 2008 - 2010" - so we do not really need anything else - until a new tour starts :D  !

Regina and Bruno
