Just a reminder about our proposed meet up in Salzburg....
As most of us who are staying at the hotel Annex-der Salzburger Hof will not be arriving in Salzburg until the sometime in the afternoon of the concert we have decided to go ahead and make the hotel our meet up point.
Andrea has been in touch with the hotel and they are more than willing to have us there in the afternoon. As most of us don’t know Salzburg we have at the moment also decided that we may also eat there before heading up to the concert. The restaurant serves typical Austrian food and the hotel’s restaurant opens at 5:30pm. They told Andrea they will push a few tables together for us if needed.
Because of our various travelling times we unfortunately we can’t give an exact time for the meet up, but somewhere around from 2/3pm onwards I should guess.
It has also been suggested that if we can’t find a late bar/café after the concert we may also head back to the hotel for a few late beers.
There is a map of the hotel’s location and route to the arena on the first page of this thread
So far those who have expressed interest in meeting up are……
Jarkko & Eija – Finland
Tom Sakic – Croatia
Juraj Mucko and wife – Croatia
Joe and Anne Way – Wisconsin
Andrea and Marco – Italy
Jutta – Andrea’s sister
Marinella Cutuli – Italy
Marina – Austria
Eva (majmunka) – Hungary
Suzanne – Czech Republic
Ken Forsyth (liverpoolken) – UK
Harald – Germany
Frauke - Germany (Bavaria really)
Wendy (Mabeani1) and Tony –- UK
Maarten Massa - Belgium
Connie and Brigit (tigrib) - Germany
Liesbeth - Holland
safe and happy travels

hello friends
and thank you liverpoolken for starting the idea of a meetup, stumbled over the thread only today
i´ll be in salzburg with my friend regina ("segelregina" in this forum) and her mother (my mother we took last year to lisboa)
i do hope very much to be able to join you at the meetup and come to see you forum members personally
but regina´s mother is somehow elderly, so it depends on her wishes on the day
as i think the meetup will be rather openly and spontaneously it seems we can just show up at the hotel in the afternoon or not
hope we´ll make it
safe trips to salzburg and a great concert for all

Hi Liverpoolbob,
Thanks for the arrangements! I will be driving to Salzburg with 2 friends on Monday, so we should arrive there late afternoon and we'll be going back home on Thursday which gives us a few days in Salzburg to spend with you all and to visit the city.
See you soon!
Maarten

Hi all and greetings from rainy Salzburg. The forecast promises rain for next five days, and highest daily temperatures around 15 C, so don't forget your umbrellas (meanwhile in Finland they have 30 C daily...)
Those who stay at Der Salzburger Hof and arrive in the airport, take bus # 2 (in front of the main door), pay 2,20 eur to the driver, and leave at the main railway station (Hauptbanhof). The hotel is just 200 m away. Those who stay longer, consider Salzburg Card for 1,2 or 3 days = 25, 33 or 38 eur (all museums etc. and public transportation free with the card).

Hi Jarkko and EIja, you are there already ?!
What a pity with the rain, but I think there are nice museums and things to go and see inside too and hopefully the rains stops some moments during the day. Have coffee and their lovely cakes and Strudel and just enjoy the anticipation of autumn. I was looking in the interet if I can find one wheather forecast with better forecasts...but indeed rainy but tomorrow afternoon it can also be sunny

We are lucky that on tuesday it will be a inside door concert

Let's think positive...
We'll arrive by car, see you soon
A
I just found this in the
Salzburger Nachrichten...maybe some sunrays will be with us
Prognose

Thanks for a better forecast for the next days, Andrea! Today (Sat) it indeed has rained all the time. We took train to Hallein and visited the famous Salt Mines in Bad Dürrnberg. Nice 90 min sightseeing tour underground, through the tunnels and cave lake.
