Re: Italy
The official website http://www.umbriajazz.com/ now reports that Leonard Cohen's appearance has been cancelled.
A quick translation with translate.google.com below (note the mentioning of other cancelled dates/cities we did not know of):
Leonard Cohen concert canceled at Umbria Jazz 10
Umbria Jazz takes regret that the concert of Leonard Cohen, scheduled for 17 July at 'Arena Santa Giuliana, has been canceled due to health reasons of the artist.
The cancellation date has been communicated with the festival's artistic director in the agency who looks after the tour of Italy Cohen. The Canadian songwriter, as we recall, was the victim of an accident while doing gymnastics, and his doctor had recommended an adequate period of rest, which meant a redefinition of his forthcoming tour. The agency, the past few weeks, had repeatedly provided reassuring confirmation, giving as the presence of Leonard Cohen in Italy during the middle of July dates for two, including one at Umbria Jazz.
The agency has instead received yesterday by the artist management reported that the tour in Europe can only begin 25 July, as had long been written on the site of Cohen. The same agency reported that are so skips all concerts scheduled before that date: Montreux, Locarno, Gent, besides the two in Italy. Umbria Jazz is working to replace Cohen with another artist.

Yep, on Saturday I emailed AEG about the announcement on the website of the Umbria Jazz Festival, and the outdated information has now been withdrawn from the website.

Re: Italy
My Italian isn't great but this seems to confirm the news announced on Twitter a couple of days ago, that Leonard will play a single date in Italy - in Piazza Santa Croce, Florence, on September 1. Can someone confirm I have understood the article correctly?

Cohen to charm Florence
Scheduled for September 1 is the only Italian date European tour of the Canadian artist. 5000 posts on the Piazza Santa Croce, tickets from 35 to 90 euros
In Piazza Santa Croce for five people. The musician-poet Leonard Cohen chose Florence as the location of the only Italian date of her European tour. The concert is set for the evening of Sept. 1: The Canadian singer will be accompanied by the orchestra. The show is the final act of the festival "Live On" and the flagship program of early summer in Florence.
BEYOND THE CONCERT, THE READING - The city councilor to the culture of Florence, Giuliano da Empoli, announced the date of the concert. "Every summer, the administration wants to bring the greatest icons of contemporary music in the city last year - said - we did with Patti Smith, this year, Cohen. Da Empoli also try to persuade the Canadian artist to double its performance in Florence: "Being a good storyteller, we convince him to take a reading in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence during his stay." For the event, jointly organized by the associations Marriage of Figaro and Live on, Piazza Santa Croce will be equipped to be able to accommodate about 5,000 spectators.
MELANCHOLY AND SUCCESS - Cohen, 76 years and two children, is one of the most respected figures in music and literature. For over fifty years the world spellbound with his songs with his poems of rebellion and love, characterized by melancholy that runs through all his melodic. In Italy his works were translated and reinterpreted by the likes of Fabrizio De André and Francesco De Gregori. During his career he has sold millions of records. His "Greatest Hits" was elected by a British magazine "The most depressing album ever", but won the magazine Rolling Stone gave the highest score. The last time Cohen was in Tuscany in the summer of 2008, when he attended the "Lucca Summer Festival."
TICKETS 'LOW COST' - The coupons will cost 35 to 90 euros. "A price - said the organization - far below European standards and lower Cohen's concert last year in Venice."
