...when it comes to places to visit in Dublin don't forget the beautiful and non-touristy The Long Hall on South George Street...the best pint of Guinness in Dublin.....tinders also recommends the Market Bar across the road which I intend to visit on my next trip...ta ken

Hi Ken
Sorry to see you won't be able to make the Dublin meetup, but on your next trip over can I recommend Mulligan's of Poolbeg St. for a great pint of stout.
Tony.

Thanks HappyGirl and AloeVera for organising.. I will be there and I am looking forward to it.
LiverpoolKen and Bill's Bar - I echo all the sentiments re the Long Hall, Market Bar and Mulligans. Another great place is the Gravediggers (Kavanaghs) in Glasnevin, one of the best places to go in Ireland for a pint of Guinness...

Hi all,
There will be special offers on in many restaurants in Dublin - it will be Dine in Dublin week so watch out for these offers. As Happygirl has already stated but worth saying again, most of the museums/libraries/art galleries are free in Dublin.
Grogan's and the Palace bar are also great pubs - no televisions.
Ken, I saw "The Pitman Painters" last night, an incredibly powerful piece of theatre. Enjoy Brecht and hopefully your diary will be free when the next meet-up takes place. We will give you lots of notice.
If anyone needs the exact directions to the Teachers' Club, please pm me.
in song. Paula

Here is the Dine in Dublin menu list
http://www.dineindublin.ie/ that Paula mentioned. If you prefer vegetarian food that's yummy and really good value I suggest Cornucopia
http://www.cornucopia.ie/ on Wicklow St (mostly organic, south of the river) or Govindas
http://www.govindas.ie/ (Indian, closest one to the venue is on Middle Abbey St, off O'Connell St). For great mocha or hot chocolate try Butler's
http://www.butlerschocolates.com/ (opposite Cornucopia and some other locations).
Just let Paula or me know if we can help with anything else.
Take care,
Happygirl

HI All. Been ages since I was down that end of town. Can you tell me which part of Parnell Square it is? is it on the Rotunda side or the opposite side, just in case I am heading there alone and don't want to end up lost

See you all there tonight. Feeling some withdrawal symptoms since Barcelona so this is just the tonic I need.
Looking forward to it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who turned up, had such a great time last night! It was lovely to spend the evening of the first US gig in the company of some many other Cohenites. And it was fun to catch up with a lot of the Barcelona group again and to see some new faces as well. There were about 25 of us, which was a brilliant turnout, and we're already thinking of a follow-up get-together sometime before Christmas. Thanks to Ruth and Afric who win the prize for travelling furthest to get to the meet-up, great dedication

.
To those lucky enough to attend some of the upcoming US concerts, safe travels, have a fantastic time and keep us posted!
Am going to upload some pix from another computer asap, this one doesn't manage to resize them for some reason...
