Thanks for the info, Tom. 'My bad', as the kids say!

Still, I can't help thinking ANY back catalogue sales must have a good knock-on effect on the sales of the stuff he does get royalties on, which is why I approve of the endless repackaging: it keeps him in the on-line or bricks-and-mortar store-browser's eye. Nothing I've seen so far as been particularly crass, fortunately. (Any great kitsch examples out there? I remember seeing an LP titled Liebestraume which looked a bit iffy, come to think of it!)

Picked up a copy of the 'new' hits cd in London yesterday. The artwork is the same as the old hits cd but with slightly different lettering and with the revised track list on the front. The booklet has the lyrics to all the songs and some nice 'new' photos (ca. 2001). In general though this is a pretty half-baked effort by Sony. Surely they could have produced an 'all new' compilation rather than just revamping the old album? What next? Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits reissued with a revised tracklist? Hopefully Sony will put more effort into the Isle of Wight cd due later this year.

I bought this today from HMV for £7.99. Unfortunately, there seems to be a mastering fault on Waiting For the Miracle as the track mysteriously skips at approx 0.38 seconds. Anybody else notice this? Maybe it's just my copy?

Got my copy today. Sounds nicely remastered, but from analog tapes they have in the UK - these are not the digitally remastered tapes from Legacy's The Essential or Remasters CDs.

The re-release itself still looks quite ridiculous, particularly because they kept some parts from the original booklet (description of the cover photo).

Will check Miracle, I fell asleep before it as I traveled from the Venice show last night;)

Major drop out: cut and whole two lines missing!

"I didn't see the time /cut/ but I know you sent me some" !!!

Jeez!

My disc fades out Miracle out 3:24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last line sung by Leonard is "sounds like bubble-gum" verse, and then it fades out during instrumental part. The booklet has printed all the lyrics - the original song is 7:42.

I'll be taking my copy back for a refund. I hadn't noticed that Miracle was shortened - I was so irked at the cut/skip that I hadn't played the full track.

I emailed to Leonard Cohen's manager and also to Sharon Robinson's, as she co-wrote the song.
This is outrageous - I think the CD should be withdrawn from the market. I also complained to Amazon. This is the worst possible disrespect of the artist's work.

Any chance you could list who is credited with mastering this new cd from the booklet?
