This beautiful picture from Leonard shows Canada as it is right now --snow from coast to coast. Just read my eldest brother's blog --he is locked in by the unusual amount of snow in Vancouver, but his eldest son came over to deliver a gift--The Book of Longing --He wondered whether his son knew that it was the Spice Box of Earth and TS Eliot's the Wasteland that started him on his journey as a writer. I never knew that myself. --This brother and I have always been so close in so many ways. What a wonderful Christmas gift to know that we also have Leonard in common. I also saw Leonard in a park in Portugal this summer, so this picture holds special meaning to me although it is not the same park and not even in Portugal.
May your holidays be joyful and may your connections reflect the connection you bring to so many.

Thanks for the beautiful picture, Leonard, and for the many ways your music and events around it have enriched my life for so many years, but most particularly this year. I wish you and our dear webmaster Jarkko and his family and all my friends on the board happy holidays, whatever it is that you are celebrating around now, and may we all have a peaceful and happy new year.

Happy Holidays everyone ! Love love love ... And thanks again to Jarkko for making it possible to see Leonard last june in Montreal. Lucky me!

@icecreamtruck: The picture has been taken from Leonard's house in Montreal, it is near the mountain (Mont-Royal) which is 2 min. walk from there. The only horses in that area that I know of are the one's from "la police monté", police on a horse... Don't think Leonard has horses in Montreal.

Happy Christmas and New Year to all. I thought those horses were statues until I read the text.

Thank you for the memories, Leonard. Your photo gift brings back memories of seeing you in Montreal, a meaningful pleasure beyond measure; and sitting in that parc across from your house; and of the many snowy times of my life.

Your coming here to wish us well reminds me of the wonderful ways your words and voice have changed my life, and how much meeting you has meant and still means to me. Your world and all you've done have enriched mine immeasurably... and not lastly, thank you, Leonard, for the people that you've brought me.

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to you, Leonard, to your family and to Anjani; and to you, Jarkko and Eija... and to everyone here on this quintessential Leonard Forum.

Happy New Year 2009!

Love,
Lizzy/Elizabeth

Thank you, thank you - it's been a magical year - a year of discovery and re-discovery. My family discovered Leonard, and I re-discovered a passion which has been there for many years, but laying dormant. (My son, a professional jazz musician, texted me from Glastonbury, saying "he's actually very good" - praise indeed!)

The concerts were just fabulous - looking forward to the DVD.

Very best wishes for 2009 to Leonard and his wonderful band and technicians, and to everyone on this forum.
