That dimeadozen.org is not very wise organised - I am now blocked on 5GB (5 shows downloaded) and I have to get my sharing ratio above 0.50 I think - but nobody is leeching, and the system is organised in such way that, it seems, you can share the recording ONLY after you have downloaded it in its entirety. The better way is that you're seeding immediately as you're leeching... Ratio is going high very quickly then. I downloaded 5 shows in few hours, and now I can't get ratio above 0.25 for 5 days now.

You can upload as you are downloading. It's easy to keep a ratio there, just hop on a couple popular shows, even if you will never listen to them, your upload will go like crazy on the more popular shows.

Tom, that's why apart from Leonard's Brisbane show for which I was desperate, I downloaded something new (I chose a Neil Young show which I knew I'd enjoy anyway) so that it would get my ratio up much more quickly, which it did. (If I had the bandwidth to spare I could have just kept it up for days more and probably have ended up with a ratio way over 1.0!)

Pm me when you have taught yourself how to decode your flacs into wavs. I'm sure I have plenty of stuff from the Euro tour that you haven't got. I haven't tried BURRN or any of the other programes that have been suggested, so cannot comment. I've been using

Roxio Creator Basic 9 was preinstalled on my laptop (HP) and it works perfect. I can drag and drop FLAC-files and it automatically converts them to burn them on a cd.

Is there anyone out there who knows This message has been classified as spam and will be deleted by the moderators the 24-bits FLACs bootleg of Brussels (Oct 19 2008) into 16-bits FLACs? (those 24 bits FLACs don't play on a standard cd player, I am told...)

The version of the Brussels show that I have is 16 bit and was uploaded to dime by Roofvogel with the title of 'White Man Dancing' a couple of days after the show. I've just checked the files and the lineage is:

Edirol R-09HR (24/48) > Nero Wave Editor 4 (+15db) > Trader's Little Helper 2.4.1 > .flac16

When you say 16 bit files can't be played in a standard cd player do you mean after you have decoded to wavs.

After coming to the conclusion that it doesn't look like the shows are now going to be officially made available for downloading I've recently dug out all the shows that have been sent to me from various sources along with the ones I have downloaded myself. I'm just in the middle of catching up with converting everything to wavs and making the artwork. I'm hoping to have all the LC shows sorted before Mr Dylan starts his next leg of his never-ending tour in a couple of weeks time.

If you are missing any shows let me know and I can send you the flacs if I have them.

Ken, that FlacFrontend is converring flac files into wav files without even asking me to chose any format. Now I have wav's but I actually need mp3s... Also, it seems I cannot add performer's name and album title to wav files. Funny, all this flac bussiness.

I could from the very beginning burn flacs into CD, but the idea was to make it shorter, as then I'd need to transfer CDs back to mp3 and to my mp3 player through laptop...

Tom, your information may be closer than you think. I actually use the same winamp not just for listening, but also decode flac-s into wav-s. I suppose it should work for you too; I didn't install anything special for my winamp. You just go to options-preferences-plugins-output and choose the "disk writer" one (it's good to go on "configure" after that too, to check where it will save the files). Then you play the file. Just take care that until you change back to "direct sound output" it will only decode files instead of playing them!

As far as I know, the ratio you need on dimeadozen is 0,25, not 0,50. What I don't know, though, is what popular artist could I download to raise my ratio. I don't think I listen to anything "popular", I don't even know what is popular!

I belong to the old school of doing things when it comes to collecting audience recordings. As I don't put everthing onto my mp3 player I decode from flac or shn straight to wav and then burn a hard copy of everything. If at anytime I want to put something on my mp3 player I then take the disc off the shelf and then stick it in the computer and let mp3's software decode and transfer.

There are a number of programes for decoding straight from flac to mp3 burlingtonhawk has kindly pointed you to one and the one that I know of is foobar 2000 and it's free even.

Heh, I finally did it, and it works well: 1) from flac to wav via flacfrontend, and then 2) from wav to mp3 with the help of standard mp3 software I have used for years, CDEX. Sounds is excellent. (That Beacon Theatre show beat the whole tour... mesmerizing.)

Also, I guess Beacon show *is* popular (nevertheless, it was only released yesterday morning) - my ratio reached 0.49

Laura, maybe we should download Madonna to keep us up with the ratio&popularity? [PS. I am still waiting for the Bucharest recording to emerge... no sign yet at all.]

Mr Dylan starts the next leg of his never-ending tour on 25th March so to increase your ratio try to jump on to any of these shows as soon as they appear. Of course it goes without saying that you don't have to listen to them just stick them on discs and send them to Henning. He will love you for it:-)
