Kelsey, your approach to him was equally respectful as Gwen's was. Such a lovely moment for both of you! Can't wait for you to post your photos Kelsey! Meeting LC is always so very special and I am thrilled when anyone gets the opportunity as long as it is done with the respect you both have shown
On the other hand, running onstage is unappropriate IMHO, however gentle the approach (as seen in Albert's 'Anthem' video, - he might have gotten hurt
Warmest regards,
Mary

I agree Mary, as much I've always wanted to meet Leonard it was first and foremost to THANK him for the effect he has had on my life. I can't go into detail here but I have felt very deep pain and while I went through a very very tough period in my life it was Leonard and his music that lifted me and gave me strength to look forward with hope. I didn't say this to Leonard as I wasn't going to try and look for his sympathy so I just told him his music means so much to me and it caresses my soul. I was surrounded by complete strangers at the concert but we all agreed it inappropriate behaviour what that woman did. That to me is just to say she done it and it lacks soul. I know people disagree with what I did and everyone is entitled to their opinion but what I did was out of love for him and not to just have met him. Some might disagree since I shared my experience. It wasn't bragging I just wanted to share it with fellow fans as I like hearing stories of when fellow fans meet him too. Meeting Leonard has being the best moment of my life and when I think back or look at my photos and memorabilia I'm constantly in tears. It means a LOT to me to have being lucky enough to spend the time I did with him. Kelsey I'm glad you met him too and thanks for sharing that too. He really is the most special and unique person in the world.

Musicmania,
I do not blame you for waiting to see Leonard. I would have done the same thing myself if I had know where and when he would be leaving the Hotel. I must admit when I checked out in the lobby on Sunday morning at 5.00am, I had my Bird on the Wire DVD handy just in case he was checking out then also
He has said in the past that he loves applause... so this is applause too. I am happy for you. And envious also.
It would be sad for him if nobody wanted to talk to him to say Thank You.

Gwen,
It is one of the beauties of this forum when other members share their experiences. On the one hand, it is a personal experience, but we are all united in our love of the man and his work and when people share their experiences, it allows us all to revel in that moment. Since we all try to follow his actions, there has not been one incident that I have read where the approach has been anything but completely respectful. I always love reading about these encounters. It has nothing to do with being boastful - it is all about sharing with this wonderful community.
Warmest regards,
Mary

You are very welcome. I failed miserably on previous occasions and while I have seen photos others took I like to capture these moments myself. I'm always trying to capture unique moments. I'm still going through all the rest of my photos from the weekend! (LC ones took priority of course) I took over 2100! Once it is all sorted I'll post links in a separate topic

Albert, your videos are outstanding. You captured the elegant and moving band intros so beautifully.
His closing words made me cry. And he was so gracious and smiling even when he looked at the nutter who ran onto the stage.
Well done!

I saw that too and also took a picture. I noticed it gone later in the day. Hope it was the owner of it and that somebody random didn't take it. I had many "last" times at the entrance

Thank you everyone for your wonderful reviews, photos and videos. I really have nothing to add, in fact I am totally unable to articulate my feelings about the last concert. I went back to work yesterday and everyone was anxious to hear about the weekend. All I was able to tell them was that the last concert was unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. The atmosphere, the emotions, the songs, Leonard’s words, the pure joy I felt, everything made it such a perfect night. Thank you to all my forum friends for sharing this experience with me. I felt so proud to be part of the forum family.

(It’s good to hear that I wasn’t the only one who went back to the Colosseum many times!)

What simple and beautiful signs carrying the message we all feel.
Gwen ~ Innovative, brilliant, and respectful on your part to be so inquisitive. Literally the chance of a lifetime, it's called carpe diem. Good on you. Leaving my hotel to catch the airport shuttle at 4:10 AM, it was hardly an opportunity for me to even think of, much less do, such a thing. I'm over the moon happy for you that you did, though! As already noted numerous times, a respectful approach is totally apart from what unwelcome folks have done. As so well put, wouldn't it be sad if no one even wanted to talk with Leonard. Your and Kelsey's actions were affirming and it's clear how much Leonard appreciated them.
~ Lizzy

Out for a morning walk on Sunday I was fortunate enough to run into Leonard. The opportunity to thank him personally was priceless.

Albert - as always - many thanks!
Yes - it
is a lovely moment in the introductions - between Leonard and Javier - after Javier has played so sweetly!
I had heard about the "rush" but did not know exactly when it happened.
Don't know how she managed that - but she is lucky she did not hurt herself.
