Catering...? I've read (on here, I'm sure) that there will be a range of food outlets at Lissadell... does anyone have the definitive on this? I wasn't at Kilmainham, but maybe those who were could advise whether one was permitted to take food & drink into the venue (I'm still thinking of my champagne picnic, but I'd hate to be told I couldn't bring it in....

) and/or whether the food available was good (I'm sure it'll be expensive, so I won't bother asking about that!)... I'm assuming that what pertained at Kilmainham will apply at Lissadell but again, if anyone has the definitive...?
Thanks.... just one week now!!!

Now, I don't want to be accused (again!) of being a pessimist... I was merely pointing out that weather forecasting in this neck of the woods is almost impossible... the forecast for Sligo now looks like this....
Details for 31 July 2010
Daytime.... periods of rain; High Temperature 17°C; Hours of Rain 4 Hours
Low Temperature 11°C; Winds NW 34
Evening..... rain; Low Temperature 11°C; Winds NW 34; Hours of Rain 6 Hours
BUT, I have every confidence it will change (probably several times) between now & then... if you're travelling, prepare for every eventuality... bring sunscreen AND wet weather gear.... oh, and midge repellent (sorry...

)
Anybody have any info on Catering...?

Those who are determined to see glass-half-full rather than glass-half-empty should rely more on the locals like yourself ! Luckily, most guests are probably sensible enough to go prepared for rain; then, if it does n't come, we'll be pleasantly surprised !
Re. catering, if it's like most other outdoor venues it will be chips, crepes, chips, burgers, chips......

prepare for both at the end of the month.... we'll probably get both!
Meant to include this quotation to show that the locals know best !

well thank you ma'am...
.. and back to the food stuff.... I understand that there'll be the "usual fare" on offer (although I heard that some of the stuff at Kilmainham was of slightly better quality...) BUT, does anybody know for sure whether my picnic (and champagne... it is my birthday after all

) will be admitted to the venue...?
Cheers (hic!)

Grand warm dry day in the south east. Any chance that Leonard's efficient crew could move Lissadell House down here before Saturday?

Hi,
To Leonard, the band, the crew and all those travelling to Ireland for the concerts:
An Irish Blessing
(A Blessing from St. Patrick)
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand
Oh Lenny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling...................
All the best,
Merton
