A "Bird on the Wire" is worth two in the bush, but I booked my Sligo hotel last night, so hope the date is still ok.

Hmmm - "concerts", plural. Does this include the "missing" northern show on August 10 I wonder?

I presume the promoters are anxious to announce all the Lissadell House concerts at the same time. It will be interesting to see if there is place for a 2nd Leonard Cohen concert. Be prepared to bring your kids for a Westlife concert on one of the days. They've been trying to find a local venue for some time and I'll be surprised if they're not on some night.

I hope Westlife anre not on one of the nights I'm there as my accomodation is directly across from the venue and I'd be able to hear them

However though I'm not a fan it would be nice for them and their fans for them to have a decent sized concert in their home county. Well home county for half the band!

Can we expect more gigs, do you think, or will it be just Sligo?

I see in the schedule thread that Sligo isn't to be announced until Wednesday, but I heard the national broadcaster this morning (Gerry Ryan) giving tickets out to people for the gig. I didn't hear all of it so not sure if it was a competition or what but he was all excited about the gig! So has it been announced yet officially or did I miss it!?

Yes, Gerry Ryan announced it officially this morning. And he launched it with a competition for 2 front row tickets and an overnight stay.
I'm sure the setting and the surrounds in Lissadell will be beautiful, but it's a tough place to get to ( I don't drive ) and I'd imagine a bit of a bottleneck to get in and out of - thoughts of the Barbara Streisand gig come to mind.
Sadly I won't be going to Sligo - I was kinda hoping he'd do Dublin again - still I can't complain and I can't be greedy - I've seen Leonard live seven times in the last two years......awh memories
I hope it's a great event and that everyone going from here has a truly wonderful time.
Kind Regards, Joan.

I thought it would be a open air standing event. Was to be an stress free presale purchase, now it sounds like it will be a mad scramble
