Thank you so much Jarkko and Marie. I managed to get a pretty good seat (I think) so now it's time to book a flight and hotel. Any idea where the meet up will be, Jarkko? Any recommendations for a hotel?
Looking forward to meeting you all (particularly my fellow Picture Game players).

Mary -
See you in NYC. It looks like there will be at least three of us Picture Game players there. Hope Frisco has success on Friday.

For those who are not familiar with NYC, there are very few hotel choices in the immediate area of the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side. That being said, there are a great number of choices in Midtown, one would want to be on the west side of Midtown and in the upper streets if possible (Midtown could be defined as everything from 32nd street to 59th street, and Lexington Avenue on the east to 9th Avenue on the west, and that's alot of territory). 20 city blocks is about a mile, and NYC has a great subway system and multitudes of taxis, so I recommend that NYC newbies not get too nervous about not being as close as possible if the prices are beyond your budget.
I recommend looking soon, go to Expedia or Orbitz or whatever and get a feeling for what's out there. I also recommend not worrying about availability, but be prepared for the prices...yowza!!! Hotel rates in NYC are very high.
I'm sure someone will ask my where I'm staying, so I'll mention that I got a room at a place called The Salisbury Hotel, for Thursday and Friday nights. I'll be flying down from Buffalo in the late morning Thursday, and going back Saturday morning (thank you Mrs. K., she'll be home with the kids again and she is just my hero!!!). The Salisbury is across from Carnegie Hall and although I've never stayed there, the reviews sound decent.
BTW, although I've never been asked "how do I get to Carnegie Hall", I was once asked on the streets of New York, "how do I get to Broadway". I'm still proud that I thought on my feet and said the obvious, although ancient retort, "Practice!". Unfortunately, the stranger who had engaged me just stared blankly and waited for my real answer.

Forgive me gentle fellow, but since when does a glass of wine in celebration with a beautiful fellow biped constitute a date? Just being friendly on one of the best days I've had in a looooong time! By the by, I extend the same invite to all who care to join!!!! After all it is my home town and I would like to dispel any notion that NY is an unfriendly place.

No, I'm neither interested in any kind of date nor in leaving my seat to whomsoever.
hmur4356, don't worry, yours is a nice offer.

Actually (a figure of speech, not the Actually, actually), there's always "Poetry and Music By Forum members" further down on the board .. sure, it's good to post one of your poems first but, after that, pretty much anything goes

Hey guys -
I have a certain idea that Actually might be more interested in Leonard, anyway, but I may be wrong...

Is it you? I had always assumed it was Tony Hancock!

Me too, to be honest!
But Foxwood, with a clever picture game player like you, people see your inner values, that's why! They just don't need a photograph anyway...

I may post my real picture in the future, but having seen what fuss was made about Actually's picture -I cannot imagine the flood of posts that would be made about mine. I don't think even the new server could cope!
