I imagine though that your tickets were printed and mailed before the new seating plan was devised. Probably "A" is split between A, B & C as per many "fixed" venues (the seating plan for the Odyssey in Belfast last year showed a single block at the front seats 1 - 50 but when we got there it was actually split in to 3 separate blocks) and X & Y have been added to the sides. Maybe the promoters http://www.pod.ie can explain - I think carlowmike said he'd contacted them on the other thread.

Thanks Wendy for the link to the promoter. I missed carlowmike's post on the other thread and just read it now. I'll see what he comes up with, but will also check it out myself. It wouldn't be bad if Block A Flat was divided vertically into A, B and C, but then one row could be 500 seats long!

I got a reply from POD saying that production held seats have been released. Not much help at all. I'm gonna email them again and request that they expain a bit further. I want to know do the seat numbers in Block A start in Block A or in Blocks X or Y as if they do I'm gonna be well shoved out to the side and I'd rather know in advance.

Good old Ticketmaster, gets there eventually. Now that the grapes are long since on the vine, all is well, which is why I'm taking a break from Sligo threads for the next month or so and just looking forward to the music ! Loved your witty "Songs I would like ", Oblivion - pretty much all of them ! But we'll be happy with whatever we get.

Time is flying ! :D "Leonard to play in Sligo!" is now close to becoming a reality; how incredible it looked when we first saw that thread heading. Jagreb of course is even closer; we will all eagerly await reports of that. "Sun glasses + brolly" weather these times, sunny spells alternating with downpours. I saw a comment in relation to Oxegen that "nobody is naive enough to attend an open air event in Ireland without rain gear" - well said!

My own way of celebrating the countdown is to play a full LC album every day, that's 11 days + some live albums and the added delights that Heck of a Guy has given us ! I am constantly amazed how well they all hold up, even less well known and less regarded songs - I find myself replaying less familiar ones like "The Butcher" and "Blessed is the Memory", and loving again those mesmeric and underated guitar chords. It might be a small catalogue in quantity, compared say to Dylan's 40 albums, but the QUALITY is there.

I'm just up the coast from Lissadell, and that's standard "summer weather" up here... prepare for both at the end of the month.... we'll probably get both! A waterproof cape & sunscreen will be in my bag (along with the midge repellent but I mustn't go on about that... ;-) )

Feel free ! The Sligo cyberwaves have gone very quiet lately... lots of controversy on Cambodia thread, though, because of high ticket prices. We thought Ireland was bad....
Today is St. Swithin's Day, so the next 40 days should be like today. (According to piseog = superstition.) Here in Clonmel and Waterford, where I spent most of the day, it was a lovely, warm, dry day. You might report what it was like in the North West, Alan.
Aldi here are selling Zap it; hope it works on the midges of Lissadell !

Today in the North West the sun shone (for a while) then it peed down with rain.... then the sun came back... then it went cloudy & muggy... and now it's threatening rain again... a typical day up here in fact.. :?

Yes, Alan, that sounds like what we can expect! Shortly after I posted here the rain came bucketing down after a grand dry day. So rain capes or hoods sound a good idea for Lissadell; I'll be leaving the brolly at home, wouldn't be too popular with the people behind me !

Just want to clarify that Aldi's "Zap it " is for treatment of BITES once inflicted, not for spraying of midges, etc. Live and let live, I say - by all means treat bites if they occur, but there is no need to kill everything that flies before it even has a chance to bite!!! Anyway, if the weather is as broken as it has been here lately, midges etc. won't be a problem. Still, if it doesn't get any worse we'll be doing well, for an Irish Summer.

Hope you're right, jd ! Some long range forecasts (although they never claim to be totally reliable) are showing Sat. evening 14 degrees cloudy, Sun. 17 fair. Doesn't sound too bad at all, even if those looking forward to glorious sunsets might be disappointed...

Well, it's p*ssing down in the North West today.... let's get it all out of the way before next week (next week!!!) - the local forecast is for dry & cloudy on 31st (but with our Atlantic climate these things change on an hourly basis.... )

I've found the most effective thing for midges is the extra strong repellent wipes sold in boots... they come indivdually wrapped & there's about 10 or 12 in a box.... a little expensive, but worth every penny! Stopping them biting is the key.. there's no way you'd kill 'em all - they have us way outnumbered!

That sounds OK. For an Irish summer, GOOD ! Yes, can't believe it's all only a week away now.... :D
