In regards to those video clips Arlene - they are live feeds from twitter & youtube from his fans, not sure what it was used for. (Maybe a few of the forum members are on there?) I saw some twitter dates that were from tonight even!
If you click on one of the twitter "tweet boxes" (is that what they're called?) it brings it into larger view same thing for the youtube videos I just clicked on it and it brought up a video or text that I could see better. I waited until all were loaded and were only able to bring up the top layer of them for the most part.
I think they might be time related with how they are stacked so fast...the older ones seemed to move towards the bottom first, not sure about that.
I think I saw some familiar lcforum videos on there though... anyone claim them? Thanks for sharing this link!
It feels good to have a moment to myself and the forum FINALLY...
Now I'm going to go topic surfing. What all have I missed?

Can somebody post link to the video as soon it gets available? On Arlene's video he sounds like he's barely breathing (nevertheless the audio quality, he does loose breath). Although he looks excellent.

Obviously, I'm not the only one who was less than impressed by the "tribute" or lack thereof to our Leonard on the Grammy broadcast last night. It couldn't have been more than about 10 seconds and the only way anyone would know that Leonard was being spoken about was the brief splash of his picture on the big screen. Seal's words were virtually unintelligible. He just sort of mumbled something about Leonard. The only words I caught were "Leonard Cohen", "Lifetime Achievement", and "Suzanne". Would it have hurt them to at least play one of his songs? Even a cover of Hallelujah by someone else would have been better.
Now I remember why I usually avoid award shows.

I'm never watching the Grammy's again.....period.
I don't care if I, myself become a big recording star and WIN a Grammy, I ain't showin' up to claim it.......
THAT WAS PATHETIC.....Keep in mind that a lot of the "more improtant" artists they focused on will be LONG FORGOTTEN while artists like Leonard Cohen and Loretta Lynn (another artist they skipped over and barely mentioned) will STILL be talked about and listened to, long after they're gone......
That was the absolute WORST awards show I've ever seen......bar none.......unforgivable.....
Yep, I've told you how I really feel, sorry to flame, but I just don't care.
Sorry, Mr. Cohen, you DID NOT deserve to be slighted like that!

Perhaps if there is video of the previous night when Leonard actually recieved his award someone could share it with all of his beloved fans. It is one thing to read about it and see the very small mention of it last night to fuel the disappointment. We know he was there because of our very own Arlene being on the spot we did see him...once again thank you Arlene. Surely someone on the inside did film the ceremony when Leonard was handed his award please share if you are out there...perhaps a private viewing for the forum

So Rain- I'm guessing that you wouldn't fault Leonard for showing up at this most prestigious of Follywood events - "unshaven."
And - actually - as I have said before, I do not respect that description as accurate - the way that it was reported in the media. I actually think he was
shaven to perfection!! His "unshaven" style was impeccably affected - très chic, très hip and très sexy! Perfectly fitting - a perfect expression for the event. A thing of beauty was he.
I tuned in to the Grammys - on and off - mainly off. I was in the other room and by the time I heard Seal saying "Hallelujah" - and ran in to watch - he had moved on to Pink.

In past years, I have found the Grammys to be mostly hideous. Just my personal taste - I'm sure lots of people love that stuff - well - they would have to - it is THE popular music that is selling. Isn't it? From what I saw last night, the theme seemed to be like massive Broadway productions or something - for each performer - massive stage props and backup singers and dancers!" Each performer was having their own little
cirque du soleil. Haha! OMG -
Also, while I know Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and Paul Simon are in NO WAY involved in any contests or competitions (other than in fan wars LOL), the three are regularly mentioned at the tip top of the list of singers/songwriters - for ages. And look at what as been afforded to Bob Dylan (a deserving artist) by the esteemed Grammys! He has received eleven Grammys (including Lifetime Achievement) - and six of Bob's songs have been ushered into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aw ... _Bob_Dylan
Paul Simon (a most deserving artist) has won eleven Grammys - and his songs have been ushered into the Grammy Hall of Fame also!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Simon
So - I loved Leonard's understated and subtle humor and humility in his acceptance of the award. He is more than deserving of this Lifetime Achievement Award. And I loved his elegant speech at the Consulate the day before.
And I think the Grammys have some more attention to give to Leonard Cohen - regarding his magnificent song "Hallelujah." It should be ushered into the Grammy Hall of Fame forthwith. IMO

I was (still am) hoping that maybe someone captured Leonard's portion of the ceremony on their DVR. I don't have such a beast or I would have tried. I would love to see the actual tribute that they created for Leonard Cohen. We saw his acceptance - but we were precluded from seeing any of the tributes on that live stream. But if someone DVR'd the program it would be captured. You never know - it might show up on YouTube - but it hasn't yet.

And I don't know why it is would not be available at the Grammy site - but I can't find it - because I don't think it is there!

Did not enjoy the Grammy's. Mostly was a celebration of narcissism and pop crap. Art and meaningfulness
aren't even close cousins to the voters' self-absorption, love of celebrity and money. Glad that Leonard received
the Lifetime Achievement Award. He deserves the award and far better than the blink and now its gone
moment of air-time his award received.

Amen to that Steven!
Here's a bit of a blurb about Leonard Cohen - posted on one of the Follywood online gossip sites:
From ShowBiz411 - you can read the bits of gossip from the show last night - at the link here -
Grammy Backstage -

And here is a nice little statement about Leonard Cohen -
…The legendary and beloved Leonard Cohen was not at last night’s show. But he did win a Lifetime Achievement Award. And his manager told me he’s working on new material for a new recording…

Cohen, Previn Win Grammys
Achievements of lifetimes not ready for primetime

We’re real sorry we missed the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards last night, at which singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen—a Montreal-born Jew—and pianist and composer André Previn—a Russian-born Jew—both won lifetime achievement awards.
And by “last night,” we mean that Cohen and Previn actually got their awards at a separate, un-televised ceremony that took place Saturday.
And by “we’re real sorry we missed the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards,” we mean we’re actually quite pleased we didn’t watch, because it sounds like it was pretty awful. Still, congratulations to all the winners!
Last year in Tablet Magazine, John S. W. MacDonald considered the (many) covers of Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

I contacted the Grammy Museum in L.A. and had a long talk with my "new friend, Daniel". He doesn't know what eventually will be shown there. And he said it may take a couple of months before everything is delivered and installed in the Grammy Museum collection. He did mention they have interactive display terminals with a variety of clips. So, that may be one possibility, but not for a while.
Alas, this is another instance where we have to exercise the dreaded "p" word, patience.
