"The idea is to get wrapped up in a girl".
Right on....
The idea is to get impassioned about something/someone/someidea....
The idea is to enjoy the journey even without maps....

If one starts from the premise of equality among the sexes, you are on a hiding to nothing.
There can never be equality... only the acceptance of complementarian-ness (A new word I just made up!!!) of the man and the woman.

It's obvious we (male/female) should get equal pay and reward for work done/achievement. Pointless argument to argue any other way... and just divisive... and pointless..

I work well with women because I am comfortable (I hope) with my masculinity and confident in my masculine attributes (rationality, creativity, process orientation)... I make no apologies for being masculine in my behaviour (generally!!!)....
Women I work with that are comfortable in their feminity, complement what I bring to the "table".
The end product is better because of a healthy and respect-ful relationship, and complementarian-ness of the process.

End Product = Content, home, hearth, functional, useful, nurturing, a tool....

Process = Idea, unknown, ideal, the possible, risk, luck...

Both "process" and "end product" is "rational", but the rationality has a feminine and masculine dimension, both necessary, and absolutely required for the home to be found, and the home to be built, and the home to be lived in, and the home to be filled with the energetic living, and in the living to be harnessed by both the masculine and the feminine in complementary unity and diversity.

I think the general masculine idea is to get wrapped up inside a woman (or man, as the case may be)

you are on a hiding to nothing
huh?

I've never been on a hiding, let alone one headed for nothing. But I think I can figure out what you mean.

Anyway, the point of the argument wasn't about whether women should be paid equally to men. It was about whether women would have equal interest to pursue a philosophical course of study. We all know that there are differences between men and women - statistical differences. But whether women aren't as interested in philosophical pursuits, I don't know. I only know that I am interested.

Hi Jimmy ~

Since we live in different countries, I'm not sure if you have the same joke there about men not asking for directions. It was truly  nothing more than that and deserving of every eye roll that little emoticon guy makes  .
We are in the realm of the unknown here, and men (controversy ahead) are congenitally attracted to the realms of the unknown, while our lady companions prefer what is secure, what is home.
I guess you're allowing for exceptions to these congenitals, right?

That's what men use to get into women's beds - con-genitals

That similar-to-same thought occurred to me when I wrote it... just wasn't sure how to make use of it  . Thanks for carrying through.

I'd have no fears Manna, a Chailin, of you entering the realms of philosophy....
or do the realms of philosophy enter one...

Hey, even in philosophy there is a masculine-feminine approach... a driving around looking for directions and a map indicating where one is... "con-genitally" speaking...!!!!

I guess it depends on what kind of congenitals you have.
