I have never heard Save the last Dance before and I really loved it. Very nice surprise. :)

Annmarie, I see that many years later you still haven't forgotten about the incident you had during that concert. It's really sad that such ignorant and impolite people don't care about other fans in the audience. I also thought about speaking to the security, but I feared that they would ignore them too. I will just try to stop thinking about it, it only makes me more angry. This was my second Leonard concert, and at my first one in Strasbourg two years ago I had the same problem with a woman sitting right next to me who was non stop consulting her facebook account, texting on her iphone and talking to her companion. When I politely asked her if she would bother stop talking she replied "Of course I do" and continued. Luckily for me, she left the concert after Hallelujah. Must have been someone who won tickets and only came for that song. Still makes me angry when I think about it. I just hope, that I did not catch some kind of curse, because on both concerts I've been to, I had some idiot sitting next to me ruining my show.

Back to the Gent show: As someone who's only been to one concert before (a concert where Sharon Robinson was absent :( ) I was very happy with the setlist. But, since most of you have seen Leonard very often on the last tours, I wonder if some of you have not been a bit disappointed by the setlist. After all - apart from the Old Ideas songs, I can't forget, Coming Back To You, Alexandra Leaving (WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE!) and Save the Last Dance - there were not many surprises. Especially the first half of the set was very predictable, which didn't bother me but it would interest me what the hardcore concert goers think about that. At least Leonard changed the order at the end, which felt very fresh although I still don't know what to think about Waiting for the Miracle as closer. :) But, maybe I'm just too spoilt by the four Bruce Springsteen concerts I went to this year with extremely varied setlists every evening. ;-)

It would also interest me if someone else shares my thoughts about the - in my eyes - misplaced jewish harp in Democracy.

Seventhson, I await my first show but I had only predicted 14 of the songs played although my predictions were more of a wish list and I limited my list to 30 so would probably have ened up predicting 16 or 17. I had hoped to see a much more varied set list from previous tours. Every LC song is of course a classic but that is the point and so I had hoped for more variation. Several of my predictions were on the reserve list such as Joan of Arc and the Guests but where were songs like There is a war, The Window, Take this Longing, Seems so long ago, Nancy, Came so far for Beauty, Hey thats so way to say goodbye. Even the running order was a bit predictable and I think that closing time and I tried to leave you are just too obvious towards the end. That said the impression I have got from those that went to the opening night is of a different sound from the band so maybe that is the variation that you and I both crave.

I have to notice it's the early Bird on the Wire again ("I saw a woman/beggar" version, not "Don't cry anymore" version).

A masterpiece. What sound, great capture. So nice to see Rocoe Beck smiling, that means it goes and sounds well. Who would believe it was 33rd song that evening ;-)

Well Leonard said he will start smoking again when he will be 80 years old and that he would like to tour and smoke on the road... So since 2010 tour we all expect he is going do do just that, as he said.
I didn't know that. Nice. :)
I'd say that's why he returned I Can't Forget to the setlist... he is stumbling out of bed, having his cigarette, and burning down the road.... :)

In farewell talk after Waiting for the Miracle, at http://youtu.be/TtMvh-L69hI , he says "We will meet down the road every couple of years on tour" what's indicative change - in 2008-09 he was saying "See you down the road" and you had the feeling it was the last meeting. I prepared myself in 2009 it was last time I ever saw him on stage, in that moment when he skipped off the stage. I am glad I was wrong that time. (In 2010 I was already sure he will keep going on.)

Superb recording of Dance Me and Going Home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q-tGRzOnxY (uploader says there will be more)

My transcription of his words would be: ""I think that we're going to, with the help of G-d and two policemen, we're going to keep on going to the wheelchair's rust."

Thank you so much for all the wonderful photographs, videos and reports of Sunday night's concert, excellent, I'm so looking forward to seeing Leonard this evening. I had a surreal moment last night, my husband and I were sitting by a canal enjoying a glass of wine after our meal when he said to me "that man looks like Leonard" as he got closer we realised it was the man himself with a female companion! He stopped to read the menu right next to our table. I was absolutely speechless, wouldn't have dreamed of bothering him. He looked amazing close up all suited and booted and wearing his trademark Fedora. We watched him walk across the bridge, he walked so elegantly and looked more like a man in his 50's, a truly amazing moment for us

There is a War, Seems so long ago Nancy, Take This Longing, The Window were also in my wish list. But the Nr. 1 song i wanted to hear was Night comes on.

What do we have to conclude from this reserve list on the official setlist? Does that mean that these songs were rehearsed and maybe will be included in the setlist on other legs of the tour, or will he include them randomly on some evenings? Maybe already this night? Who knows. Let's hope for Night comes on! :D

There will be some variation in the setlist; songs that have been rehearsed but not yet performed may appear sooner or later. Also note that the first concert was extra long with additional songs (32 & 33), and the next shows may be done according to the basic plan.

Seventhson, I take your point re Springsteen but 10 or so new live debuts is revolutionary by Len standards
