you see,i know english quite well i must say but sometimes i want to be accurate and make the minimum mistakes.
what i was meant to say is that in my opinion, this site looks like a scam because there are no tickets yet even in israel.
Point well taken,
gever27. At least, the awkward GOOGLE TRANSLATION conveyed the important warning:
I would not trust the sites of this nature.

I'm really happy Leonard is performing in Israel.
I'll be even happier if he performs in Palestine too.
Please Leonard do.

Any news on this? I was waiting for some announcement last week... Many rumors about this concert are spreading.. I am sure that even some scammers are already selling tickets to naive people...

Here comes the 28th weekend, and still, no major announcement, let alone no announcement at all.
Should we start worry?

The concert continues to be unconfirmed and the tickets are NOT on sale - do NOT buy anything from scalpers.
The announcement is delayed and will possibly be coming after mid-July (however this might still change)

Thank you Jarkko for your always rapid answers, I really appreciate it.
Let's remain hopeful, and pray for the great Cohen to arrive...

i suspect that word has reached Leonard that many fans are not happy about Tel Aviv if that goes ahead without a concert in Palestine. it's a delicate issue; he has many fans in israel who would love to see him, yet appearing there is symbolism of the wrong kind, some people think.

Forgive me,
but personally, I have got the impression that very little of this still has got to do with Leonard Cohen... Yes, this is the Middle East conflict, everything is - or easily becomes - a sensitive and highly loaded issue. But please, trust the man whose fans we all are, and his management - and, above all, believe that all his intentions are sincere! Further than that, as he is no politician, and no miracle worker, either, but just a - however wise - human being, we should probably not go right now...

Perhaps a little bit of hope for the Israeli fans: the sound check at Weybridge (July 11) included 'Lover, lover, lover', which could have been rehearsed for the concerts in Tel Aviv/Ramat Gan + Rammalah???
Quoted from the Weybridge Concert Report thread:
Mazal wrote:mnkyface wrote:This is old news by now but I am just catching up on the Summer 09 threads and I am FREAKING OUT (seriously hyperventilating) about Lover, Lover, Lover in the sound check.
*thunk*
Could they be rehearsing it for the (possible) fall dates in NA?? Well, hopefully they will play it soon on the current leg too and we can see/hear on YouTube... I love that song and the mature voice adds so much.
So much great YouTube footage uploaded from Europe lately. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to do this.
'Lover, lover, lover' may have been rehearsed for the - hopefully upcoming - Tel Aviv/Ramat Gan + Rammalah concert, since LC wrote it for Egyptians and Israeli's during the 1973 Yom Kippur war, or as he calls it 'the Sinai war':

Wikipedia includes some remarks LC made about writing the song:

Are we to understand it is canceled?
No. It remains to be tentative and unconfirmed.

jarkko hello,
first of all thakns for keeping us updated
second - can you tell us where it stands? - whats holding it back?
is it sponserships? - thats what they said here that the problem was in the beginning but we understood that worked out.
is it something to do with political boycot - someone metioned it in the topic "tel aviv whats going to happen?"
is it something else? is there anything the public can do to help?

I have just called the Lean tickets company -
http://www.leaan.co.il/default.asp - the one that will officially sell the tickets - , and they said to open their site on Saturday night - that is when the tickets sale should start. Let us hope that this is true and that by then we will hear something from Jarkko.

Uh oh! Maybe time for Jarkko to start another 'Big Announcement Coming' topic

.
