Lines from "Come Healing" possibly inspired by Dylan Thomas

Post by Joe Way »

When I've heard the lines, "Longing of the branches to lift the little bud," there was always something familiar to it. Recently, I came across the Dylan Thomas line "The force that through the green fuse drives the flower." And, yes, there is also a reference to blood in the poem. Here is the poem in its entirety.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for this thread. Seems likely that the lines were inspired by the Dylan Thomas poem.
Won't guess, though, as to whether L.C. had the Dylan Thomas poem consciously in mind at
the time that "Come Healing" was being created.
