am so glad to learn there was at least one person nice enough to say thank you, alan. you must have had a lovely childhood, i can always tell who got brought up properly. there is more where that footage came from but i am a long way from home right now. guess what, the dentist appointment is over now and she said my teeth are all fine, she just polished them and said i can come back in nine months, a big weight off my shoulder. have to go, they are coming back to the car.AlanM wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 2:10 amThank you for sharing this one, Geoffrey. thank you, Cheshire gal, for glowing like a lantern amongst the shadows of this cold october evening. i appreciate your company so much, as well as that of everyone else who takes time to sprinkle their observations upon my presence in this forum. we who dare to show ourselves may not be many in number, more like a small family, each member possessing a different personality. we manage to continually interact, sharing our thoughts, successfully for the most part - whether they be compatible with our own or not. it is truly an honour to be counted amongst this community. some people prefer to lurk in the background, and that is all right, too - that's what leonard did.Cheshire gal wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:16 amGeoffrey, this was lovely to see. Thank you so much for it. I hope you will post a little more for us. I really enjoy reading your posts each day and think your artwork is fantastic. I am one of your biggest fans You are much appreciated on the Forum. I am sure Leonard would be so happy with your work.
I also check your contributions every day but I do not feel drawn to comment each time. I presume there are many others in the same category.Cheshire gal wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:16 am Geoffrey, this was lovely to see. Thank you so much for it. I hope you will post a little more for us.

it might not look too bad in this photo, but when you see it in real life it's depressingly awful. will try to do it again when i get time, maybe go over some charcoal with a rolling pin and add a drop of linseed oil. the shops have started selling liquid charcoal, but it's many more times expensive than paint. i have lots of money, it's not that, i just don't like throwing it out the window. i'd rather buy another bottle of wine. a glass of chardonnay on the table, a blank artboard or canvas on the easel, paganini flowing from the loudspeakers - and who knows what will materialise! try it, if you haven't already done soLisaLCFan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 2:46 am I suspect, Geoffrey, that there are one or two wannabe-artists out there who would give anything to be able to produce something like your "perfect example of uninspired rubbish".
Thanks for the heads-up on the video -- I will check it out soon (plus the other one!). In a bit of a rush at the moment...
Cheers!

yes, i do know. the strange thing is that all too often the more free time a creative person gets, the less they actually use it. it just doesn't seem so valuable when one has plenty of it. anyway, i wish other people would show their pictures. it doesn't matter if anyone likes them or not, it's all good - and in any case there are so few people in here that the likelihood of any kind of response is minimalLisaLCFan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:57 pmI know. I keep telling myself that. I do try (and often, I manage to succeed!), but as you undoubtedly know, every now and then, other things and people can demand attention and action (some of which is mostly unavoidable), when all I really want is to be left alone to quietly do my own thing.
