L.C. Song Hunt
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Dar,
This one may have been hiding in plain sight for some who were
giving this consideration. The song is "Going Home." The lines are:
I love to speak with Leonard
He's a sportsman and a shepherd
He's a lazy bastard
Living in a suit

Hi,
Dar and Anny, thanks.
Forum members are invited to come up with song hunt questions.
Who'll be first? In the meantime, here's another: There are at least
two songs with botanical content. Can you name them?

I'm off-line the next two days. I'll stop in to see how the "hunt" went when I get back.
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
I thought of 3 right away (if I correctly understand your term "botanical content):Steven wrote:Hi,

Did I Ever Love You: "the lemon trees blossom/the almond trees wither"
So Long Marianne: "deep in the green lilac park"
Everybody Knows: "and a long stem rose"
Re: AW: L.C. Song Hunt
Interesting game.
To add to Mrs. Dove's suggestions:
- Suzanne: tea and oranges; flowers; seaweed
- Come Healing: O longing of the branches, To lift the little bud
- Light As The Breeze: the wind going wild in the trees
- A Tousand Kisses Deep (Recitation): I loved you when you opened, Like a lily to the heat
- Diamonds in the Mine: the trees are burning in your promised land; there are no grapes upon the vine
- The Window: Like the rose on its ladder of thorns
- The Traitor: the Rose of High Romance
- Take This Waltz: In the cave at the tip of the lily; your lilies of snow; with the photographs there, and the moss; The hyacinth wild on my shoulder

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
If I may be so bold as to offer one, here goes:
There are two songs containing lyrics which suggest that there is something/someone which has royal sovereignty over the non-physical aspect of our being.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Is "Lady Midnight" one of the songs?
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Thank you for your guess, dar, but no, Lady Midnight is not one of the songs I'm thinking of.
Re: L.C. Song Hunt
How about Our Lady of Solitude?

Re: AW: L.C. Song Hunt
I think one of the songs has to be 'Heart with no Companion' ('the soul without a king').
