Hi..just to let people know there is a possibility of Leonard Cohen doing 3 concerts in Lissadell next June. Its the 150th anniversary of W B Yeats birthday and discussions are on going so keep June free. Will keep you posted...cheers

Written as if a fact , but more of a hope than fact ?
No doubt they and we would want him as part of those celebrations - but is he likely to be willing or , with the uhtc ,able ??
So many hopes for a 2015 tour

As much as I hope this is true and appreciate the hope of shows next year, I do feel it would be bad form for someone in the know to leak information onto the internet. I book shows myself (on a much smaller scale, admittedly), and this kind of thing can cause all sorts of problems and can prove quite counter-productive.

I agree with you James T, though I think it's more likely to be someone with a snippet of info than someone directly involved in anything (IF there is anything) who has posted.

Anyway, it's already too late for me. I will be on holiday in the States next June.

I will wait to hear any news that comes from you in the future about this. I think that it would be wonderful, but as you say , many requests must go to Leonard all the time.

Well he has talked enough about how he finds live performance in various ways nourishing and has a love of ireland and lissadel in particular so in sense returning to the stage would be good self care , but perhaps at this stage of his life there are other aspects of taking care of himself that would argue against touring . He has certainly developed a lot of wisdom and self awareness and will make , i'm sure, the wisest decision !

With the Bench Project dedication and the Walking Weekend, it would certainly put a number of people in a tailspin.
Rather reckless to put it out there with such 'certainty,' albeit using the word "possibility." As James has noted, it can create a good deal of chaos to mislead based on rumours or rumours of rumours.

I told Robert Kory about the rumors posted here and sent me by email, and he said:

There are many rumors about Leonard's touring plans, and as much as we might all want Leonard to tour again, any discussion of touring next year is premature.

That's not a NO, just "a bit early to come out", like a premature born child.

I'm sure, though... the band will be ready, the plans are in place as much as they can... Just awaiting the great man's decision. If LC doesn't know what he thinks to the idea yet, nothing can be done.

I would be surprised if he didn't play some shows, but I would be surprised at a full scale tour like last time.

I am reminded of a story Esther told back around 2010. Someone had asked Leonard about if he wanted to retire from the road at the end of the tour and live a simple life and have someone look after and care for him. His reply was something to the effect of "On the road I have someone who's job it is to look after my hats, what more can I ask for".
