Here below I have written a poem called: 'In the month of June'.

It's not really 'about' the moon, but it all started when I was today searching words rhyming on 'moon'.

I hope you enjoy it a bit.

It all happened in the month of June
From far away, I could hear her croon
She smiled at me and I felt a boon
To get eternal lost in her infinite dune

Oh, lady of love, born with a silver spoon
I hope that the time is for you opportune
To pierce you forever on my harpoon
While you are singing that heavenly tune

But, baby, my baby, I'm just a loon
Some of my friends even call me 'buffoon'
But I alter the direction, like a monsoon
Changing with seasons and creating a typhoon

Oh, woman of welth, let's go to the lagoon
To give eachother love in the afternoon
To hold our hands under the full moon
To dream that this will happen very soon

Kind regards,
Sanverp
Kind Regards,
Peter

For Dorthy

The moon come back again last night.

It was just a slice of silver stepping
through the night. The heel of your shoe
clicking against the sky.

I thought,
. . . now remember it was late,
but I thought,
I could see you on the other side
. . . your silhouette
. . . . . . moving through the light.

I suppose that was just a cloud passing by.

Hi Manna and thank you. There was a mention of Greg recently so I was in here leafing through some of his posts.

There's no Dorthy ... I was just pretending to be Alice (or maybe my childhood self) writing to Dorthy or whatever she represented. I was bouncing off of Violets line "never is the moon gone".

I expect you'll watch it, the "perigee moon" ~ I know you can do something with that, Cate and Manna.

Joy,

does not lift her hand
to hide her gaping mouth,
or wipe the tears
that trickle down her cheek.

She is not as graceful as a willow,
nor as slender as a grain of wheat.

She is full thighs and apple curves,

You wish her to cover you,
you want to disappear into her.

She does not laugh like a lady
but you,
. . who dreams of swallowing the moon
never wanted her to.

I find your comment harsh and disturbing, Kate. I live in Britain Land where we call menstruation a "period". I believe you live in one of the Northern states of America, Kate, where "period" means, like, errrr, a stop. Anyways, do cheek your spelling betters in futures. I am sorry you are so jealous of my work and I know you have disrespected the Naked Ironing community before. We are strong, we are defiant. We use moon cups.,

ummm ... go moon cups

Speaking of our Northern states - We're very excited here because our new president is the son of a man that Leonard Cohen used to read poetry to on the tops of roofs.

I'm going to avoid asking you what a semicolon or an apostrophe might mean in your weird slang universe.

I'm pasting your poem here, so I don't need to keep scrolling back.
Joy,

does not lift her hand
to hide her gaping mouth,
or wipe the tears
that trickle down her cheek.

She is not as graceful as a willow,
nor as slender as a grain of wheat.

She is full thighs and apple curves,

you want to disappear into her.

She does not laugh like a lady
but you,
. . who dreams of swallowing the moon
never wanted her to.

I was very taken with your poem when I first read it, and read it several more times immediately. At first, I interpreted the 'addressee' [Joy] as being the feminine quality of the emotional state of being, Joy, itself, with all its characteristics shareable by anyone who might experience it. The first stanza was such a perfect description. As I got further, I realized it could be a real woman, with its being a perfect description of a woman who fully occupies that emotional state of being as she lives. Your final stanza wonderfully becomes very visceral. Thanks for this, Cate. I thoroughly enjoyed the images, singularly and metaphorically. Well done!!!
