Anonymous Posting poetry contest

This is for your own works!!!

what are Makeera, Rik and others scared of in posting a poem anonymously?

that without their name their friends won't be able automatically to praise it and it will be judged on its merits instead?

Anonymous Posting poetry contest

Post by Critic2 »

anyone who thinks this will be a fun idea please post to this thread.

We simply need someone to pick a topic and then agree a deadline.

Well, after thinking about it I'm surprised that no one has suggested a contest before. An anonymous contest would be fair except for a few problems:

(1) the temptation to cheat by letting your friends know which poems are yours

(2) the Poetry Forum devotees' ability to recognize the styles of the "regular" contributors and thus short-circuit the anonymity process

(3) The tearful envy, the fits of rage and the decidedly unspiritual atmosphere we will all have to breathe when the winner is declared.

there is something about you that I definitely like! Without checking back may I presume you are unpopular here?

all 3 points you make are valid.

But

1. let cheats cheat. if it matters enough to anyone to fix such a tiny contest they deserve/need to win

2. agreed. but surely part of the challenge will be to write out of style?

3. ha ha ha! I'm sure Makeera will be gracious and humble

rick - don't sulk. postpone our spat for a few days. send your ego on a dirty weekend. relax and have fun with the contest. inside you must feel really embarassed that you have descended to posting "blah, blah, blah"

take a big breath and act like a man.

Thanks Lizzy, but I will not.

I will not enourage nor tolerate his ilk.
He owes an apology to Else who would appear to have not returned to these boards since his loathsome behavior.

Hope you have fun though!

don't be a sulky-poo Drama Queen. Go to the Egoless site and learn about taking criticism. Have you spoken to Else about her take on this? What a pompous twit you are, showboating.

Now explain your line about her never being deceased before...

I consider you my best friend, ricky. I am just sad that you are sitting alone in the corner throwing your toys around when lots of us are splashing in the water having fun.

rick ~

Of course C2 will never recognize himself in the mirror you keep holding in front of him, but it's still funny to watch his deflection attempts. :D
