Andrew, maybe you are aware of recent offer by the Economist magazine to redraw the European map? ;P

A quote from The Economist:
"In Britain’s place should come Poland, which has suffered quite enough in its location between Russia and Germany and deserves a chance to enjoy the bracing winds of the North Atlantic and the security of sea water between it and any potential invaders."

A great idea, I have nothing against it .

kaz,

Seems you now have a choice. On Andrew's original map Poland is situated in Queensland (my home state). Would you rather have to deal with bracing north atlantic winds or balmy sea breezes? You still have the security of being an island  ;-)

I think some of my descendants are from the northern area of Poland and Germany which has changed territory many times.

Thanks Tom - I wasn't aware of that.

It's both an interesting map and article! ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

LOL! I wonder if to feel hurt or complimented that my country doesn't even get a word in that (that usually happens; much smaller european countries seem to be a lot more interesting than we are!)
