Re: 667 concerts and counting...
Ken,
If 667 was San Jose, it seems appropriate that 666 was Las Vegas! ("This old town is filled with sin, It'll swallow you in, If you've got some money to burn. Take it home right away, You've got three years to pay But Satan is waiting his turn" - Gram Parsons).
Cheers, John E

I'm just glad that Leonard's concert list is still increasing and we'll have the opportunity to see him perform again next year, but he's a long way behind B.B. King who is still performing at 83 and has typically done around 250 concerts a year throughout his long career.

Leonard need not worry about any other artist. He's our man !
He should do what's best for Leonard Cohen and no one else.

Funny that Ken I thought the answer to life , the universe and everything was up a mountain in Wales . But come to think of it I felt 42 when I went up but now I am 58 so you could be right !liverpoolken wrote:Philip
Your maths is obviously better than mine....I had the answer as a very positive 42...which coincidentally as we all know is also the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything....some folk would argue that the answer to any question asked about his Bobness will always be 42......ta ken

As a purist I must correct those whose submission is that 42 is the answer. That proposition is rejectiamus patronum.

I agree with you. Let us be happy, what makes Leonard for themselves and for us. For fans, it makes a lot Leonard.

Maybe I am wrong, but does Bob Dylan have women drooling over him? or nearly crashing their cars while listening to him while driving? or trying to write a letter while Leonard is calling us Darlin' in the background?. Perhaps a Dylan fan could tell me.

Dear LightAsABreeze,
Love that picture by the way
Being a long time Dylan fan, I can easily say that I have been converted in a most natural and easy way. All it took was one concert, one moment to realize that this man is a master of the expression of the soul. That my thoughts have found a place to wrap themselves gracefully. I loved Dylans poetry and still do but it never touched me on a personal level like LC. When I don't listen to his music for a day, I miss him, miss it.
My husband is a Dylan fan but not an LC fan, he admittedly doesn't get it. I guess it takes a certain level of sensitivity and longing.

According to information (which is now several years out of date!) the English rock band Status Quo (still touring today) in their 40+ year history, have played over 6000 live shows to a total audience in excess of 25 million people. In doing so, the band has travelled some four million miles and spent 23 years away from home.

I went to one of their shows in the 70's and walked out...it was either that or a burst eardrum. I think they turned the volume up to 11.Unspoken Words wrote:According to information (which is now several years out of date!) the English rock band Status Quo (still touring today) in their 40+ year history, have played over 6000 live shows to a total audience in excess of 25 million people.
