"Ain´t no cure for love"
Has anybody heard, in which church LC walked into?
I mean to have heard that he has singing: "I walked into St. Gereons church, there is no...."

It was defenitly not the orignal version (empty church) and not the 88-version "I walked
into the Koelner Dom".

Anyone heard it better?

Thank you Tina for the links, very appreciated !!!
I bought yesterday in the station at Koeln the Koeln Anzeiger but nothing was in it, which made me a bit disappointed as I wanted to read about it on the train and bring myself back to these wonderful evening.
Now I am back in Italy and can read it them online :-), also very good .
If you find more, go ahead, for people not being in Koeln these informations are very useful.
Vielen Dank nochmals,
Ciao

Hi Arlene and everyone,

The blessings I remember were:
"Be careful, be kind - that's a tough one"
and
"May you always be surrounded by friends and family,
and if this is not your lot,
may the blessings find you in your solitude".

This last one especially touched me.

Best wishes,
Heike

Leonard Cohen was totally awesome, many tears... this man has been part of my life since I was 13; 41 years. Leonard's musical partners in this totally entertaining and captivating show were just soo into it. If you haven't seen it get tickets, Leonard is just such a gentleman, and Dino Soldo, "on the instrument of wind ", that has got to be the most sensual sound I've ever heard.

The band is still the same - and again all did a great job!
Espacially the soli from Dino Soldo and Javier Mas have been quiet impressiv! It's a great privileg to see a such number of great musiciens working and making music together!

I also was thinking of the blessings - and I think, you are right.

I think the blessings show again the kindness of this man and his strongness of words.
Those are just a few words and nevertheless they have this deep meaning and they nearly touch everyone.

"eldoctorcd" has posted a lot of video on YouTube

Leonard Talks
(about visiting in Colgone - putting a paddlock on the bridge and throwing the key in the river, etc.)

Closing - Wither Thous Goest
(the very end of "I Tried To Leave You" and "Wither Thous Goest" - and Leonard's blessings.)
Particularly sweet - Roscoe Beck kneels beside his son Charlie on one knee while they sing - and Leonard thanks "Roscoe Beck's son Charlie." :D

Dear Fried,
I am sorry, I didn't hear it, either! But what a kind, kind gesture of you to send me all that stuff! For Fried has mailed me a whole bunch of CDs (and a DVD) with Leonard's earlier concerts, it was a complete surprise... Thank you so much, guess what I'll do tonight! :D
Edit: Hey, I have just seen there is a Muenster one, too! OmG, 1985 - I was nine years old then and had heard Leonard on my parents' record player often enough, but nevertheless didn't really have a clue who he was. I was still listening to fairy tales and Enid Blyton stories back then... ;-) Wonder why my parents didn't go to see him, though!
