Poem for Geoffrey

Post by Sideways »

Geoffrey is a twit
that's all I want to say about it
just my little bit
he has behaved (I hope unintentionally) like a shit.

... which in reading
brought to mind
that teepee for one
may sometimes get used
as tp by another

NewsGal ~ You'd better not go anywhere! Seriously. Quite often, it seems, that despite some very rocky and rude beginnings, the nemeses can end up rather fond of one another. Geoffrey, as I know you, too, has some most endearing qualities. That is not to excuse any offenses he wreaked in responses to you.

Poem For Everyone

Post by John K. »

Whaddaya know?
You reap whatcha sow.
It doesn't mean I'm gonna go
To one side(ways), or the other,
As the winds' blow

But Lizzy's proven right
Something she told me on a long-ago night
She prob'ly doesn't even remember...
But she might.
I love to speak with John
He's a pundit and a fraud
He's a lazy banker living in a suit

Well, darn it, John. I hate it when I can't remember what it seems I really oughta. But, there have been so many nights... in person? on the Forum? in PMs? in emails? Who's to choose? And how long is long ago? Does February 19th-20th seem so far back or more recent? Well, I'm glad to hear I was at least somehow proven right. It happens so seldom, though, it'd be nice to be able to savour it  .

Twas long, long ago
In a PM I think I once did know
'Probly don't have it any-mo

And when I get the chance
I'll do the PM dance
And tell you what Kloberdanz
Is talking 'bout
I love to speak with John
He's a pundit and a fraud
He's a lazy banker living in a suit

Here's another poem. Although it's more in keeping with the spirit of the thread's title, I write it with News Gal in mind:

Ignorance is no excuse
Especially when one's been corrected
When will we call it abuse
Without misperceived personality reflected
A heart that should not have been broken
A Hair shirt, a feeble disguise
The buttons are all broken
And the threads are improvised
I love to speak with John
He's a pundit and a fraud
He's a lazy banker living in a suit

"Without misperceived personality reflected", remind me when the prize for "Worst Poetry Line of the Year" is awarded. In the Ironing World you would be a little boy sailor suit, tangled with an eiderdown and a bowler hat- an incomprehensible mess

I'd be happy to remind you, the only problem is that you appear to not know who you are!!!!

Just for posterity, here's the screen shot of what I quoted, so I can't be accused of doctoring it in case the original post is changed.

So, are we in cahoots?
